Dec 22 - Piano House (In the Distance)
Added 2021-12-23 17:30:19 +0000 UTCThis week, we're continuing on the trend of upbeat/emotional songs and I started out writing some chords to come up with something I liked. I struggled a bit here, but after a few chord ideas I decided to move forward on an idea with chat's help on stream.
Once the direction was decided it was time for some drums, bass, other chord layers and a melody. The melody I was on the fence about until the very end but I think listening back this morning, I really like it. After that it was time for some arrangement and basic FX and we have the version above!
I like this idea because it feels like two distinct emotions linked together - something really driving and focused on moving forward and then a feeling as if all of your hard work paid off and you actually move forward. It also reminds me a lot of some Blocking the Sky songs (You, Dream to Remember, etc). What do you think? Is this something you'd like to see me return to?
