March 17 Stream WIP | Chillstep
Added 2021-03-18 18:03:59 +0000 UTCYesterdays stream I wrote some chillstep. For a change, I started with the percussion and wrote both the verse and the drop. From there, I wrote the chords, melody, and arrangement. I ran out of time on stream so the "drop" in this version is really just a placeholder at the moment.
The first chord progression I wrote was really awesome, but unfortunately chat pointed out that it sounded like something else. Turns out that I basically rewrote the Mount Olympus chord progression but in another key. If you want to hear how it sounded with that progression, you can check the VOD on Twitch!
Towards the end of the stream, I wrote another chord progression and melody - that's the one you hear in this current version.
I like this song. It's somewhat dark and full of emotion. I'm going to at least revisit it to build out the drop, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it. What do you think? Let me know in the comments :)

Like the chords/melody and definitely the “spacey” faster overlay (sorry for the lack of terminology), would like to hear what it sounds like with a revisited drop. Quite promising! Keep up the excellent work!
