Weekly Update #28 - Lots of Songs

Hey Everyone,

I have an update on 5 full songs today, some finished and others close to finished.

0:00 - What If

This is 100% finished. I'm pretty happy with this master and we also added extra background vocals to the verses. Expect a download tomorrow or Sunday!

3:21 - Finding Sunrise

This is 95% finished. It needs a final session for reference mastering and that's about it. I tried changing the piano in the break but I ended up going back to it and just filtering it the first half. Should have a final download for you next week!

7:01 - Circle Back

This like is 92% finished. I need a final session to adjust the mix a tiny bit and a proper master. There's not a whole lot of difference between this version and the one I posted last week. But I should have a download on this one by the end of next week. I still might remove the snow crunches in the 2nd build, but I'm not 100% sure.

10:36 - Stay With Me Tonight (Trains)

This song is one that you voted for me to finish from over the summer. I had 1 session this week scheduled for this and I didn't anticipate making this much progress but I really liked where it went. The main thing I liked from the original song was the bassline so I scrapped everything with that and took this in an AnjunaDeep direction. I thought since the bassline was the main feature but not super complex it would work for this style and I'm really happy with the result!

It's about 80% there and I'm anticipating finishing it up 100% next week but no promises!

14:43 - Breathe Again

I spoke with the person I'm writing this for and they really wanted me to keep the intro more emotional to reflect the seriousness of the issue (if you want to know more, head over to Weekly Update #26 to see why I'm writing this). I really tried to make the piano more emotional while still having it reflect the original progression and lead melody (you can hear it in there if you listen carefully). I added a layer of strings to flesh out the intro and went from there. I still might decide to change the verse bass here because I like the other instruments I chose but the bass is almost too "80's"

I expanded this into a full arrangement and wanted to switch up the emotional part the 2nd time around to draw some contrast. This section is the one that might change the most before I'm finished but it's pretty cool atm. It might just need some transitions.

This project is definitely my biggest WIP focus for next week as the event is getting close so I want to make sure the song is finished beforehand so expect an update next week!

So wow. That's a lot of songs this week - but man this feels good. A lot of these have been in the works for quite some time and I'm really happy to finish them up!
