Kitbashing a Character - Part 3

Ok, so it's starting to look good. The ears still really bother me. Searching for ears, Praes Pony popped up. When loading the ears, RSSYs script will pop up and help with the positioning. For the ears, I choose hair as the figure type. None of the colors they come with works for me so I played around with the colors: Base Color RGB 42, 16, 16, and Translucency Color 59,23,23 (I had saved it in the custom colors).
The tail also works well here, I choose knee-length dress for RSSY. I personally did not like the hair, it looked too 80s and big for my taste. Sidd hair was more to my liking. Apply black colors to tail and hair.
Now the trick to get rid of the old ears: MAB and WillDupre have a few anthros in their store that utilize eye patches geograft. Imagine them cutting off the ear and putting a bandaid over it. Load up the ear patch from any of them (I have the bunny). It's all white. Copy the face texture from the SY shell to the earpatch ear and face. Copy the torso texture from the SY shell to the earpatch torso and (very important) set the opacity texture to none. It's still white. That's because the SY shell now has the earpatch surfaces on it. So go to that shell and set the opacity to 0 for the three new surfaces that start with G8M.
As for the hoves: load up the Gladeling feet. Set the Base Color to RGB 59, 23,23, and the translucency to 136, 93, 78 for both surfaces. I should still fuse the hoves to make them look like horse hooves.
Why Gladeling and not one of the morphs? I noticed most hooved leg morphs make the leg rather thin. I wanted a character that is powerful and the thin legs take away from that. A lot of choosing the assets comes down to what's available to you, what compromises you can make (still not 100% happy with the eyes and the bumps left by the earpatch), and how it works for the image you want to create.
Good luck! And feel free to ask!
