Comments

I hope you have a chance to rewatch it to appreciate all the production details and what a masterpiece it is. Oh, and those at the end were not part of the loop - so no Ulrich. And apparently Berndt (the father of Helge and the original owner of the power plant) was Regina's father - note the family picture in Origin World Regina's house.

Thank god for this! I was shouting “but Ulrich doesn’t exist” for the last few minutes lol

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

I love this ending! It makes me cry every time I watch it. And you thought they wouldn't tie it up in a pretty bow. I thought they did a pretty good job at it. It initially did irritate me a bit that Hannah of all people still got to live. However some of the other comments here about what kind of person Hannah would be in this world makes me feel a little better about it. I hadn't caught those things. Thanks and loved your reactions and the journey with this brilliant show!! It's one of my favorites.

What? No, "the Jews?" Thanks, Soibhan! Ha. Yes, I'm Jewish. And, yes, Americans (like 30%+) are incredibly stupid. I had to laugh when you said Marek convinces Trump to run. Knock out that origin world, too!

Booooo. (You do you, of course.) :D

Ooh, series finale. So now there's room for The Wire or Buffy or Angel or...

More answers: "You [Jonas] won't exist. Martha will go on to have a lovely life." A: Nope. Martha's child grows up to impregnate Agnes. Agnes gives birth to Tronte. Tronte is Ulrich's father. Ulrich is her father. If Jonas doesn't exist, Martha never gives birth, and thus her entire familial lines ends too. Basically, if one person in the looped family stops existing, they ALL disappear. This also applies to the conversation about Hannah accusing Ulrich at the end. Ulrich does NOT exist in the origin world, and thus Hannah is never turned down the path of jealousy like she is in the twin worlds. Back in Season 2, Woller even tells Clausen that Hannah is beautiful and that she deserves better than a suicide husband and a cheating Ulrich. Fitting that she ends up with the one man that appreciates her all along." "Is the passage incomplete? It looked incomplete." A: That's because this is Eve's passage. In her world, it's dug out between 1953 and 1986 and does not activate until 1986 when the origin world, her world, and Adam's world are finally connected thanks to Jonas trying to "close" his passageway back in Season 1. Her world's tunnel connects 1986, 2019, and 2052 because it doesn't "activate" until this moment. "Wtf is up with the visions in the quantum passage?" A: It took me 33 years to understand this. LOL j/k I -think- that seeing their opposite younger versions is time's way of guaranteeing that this outcome happens. Schrodinger's Cat Paradox states that observing the quantum state solidifies its properties and negates all others. By their younger selves seeing them here, it guarantees that they MUST get to this point for time to make causal sense, and thus this ending becomes enforced canon. Just my theory. Marek Tannhaus and Sonja are the cause of H.G. Tannhaus creating the two worlds. Incidentally, this loop is ended up Jonas and Martha. Jonas... Sonja. Anagram. MARek TannHAus... Martha. The loop worlds recreated them to solve their own death, but in a new way.

Answering the last few questions for ya: "Is that why they have a cleft palate? From different worlds?" A: Nope, it's simpler. They're the product of actual incest, so they were born with a birth defect. It's the first hint that Jonas and Martha hook up. Back in Season 2, Martha even has a dream that darkness spills out of her womb as a prophecy about this happening. "But Regina's already dead here..." A: After the apocalypse, Claudia sends Tronte to kill Regina while she's dying of cancer (remember, we see him smother her with a pillow). He whispered that "she said this is the only way to save you." Now we see that he means that Claudia believes that since Regina isn't part of the fucked up family knot that she'll survive the disintigration of the two worlds since she's based on the origin world only, and that killing her here will give Claudia's younger self the motivation she needs to get shit done. "So this is the origin?" A: Nope, when Jonas snatches Martha away with the orb, they time travel to her world back in 1986 (there's no world swirly warp to indicate a world change). 1986 is the year the the "Incident" happens at the power plant, and also the year that Tannhaus uses his machine in the origin world. It's the one time that all three worlds are connected.
