A lot of us don’t enjoy gaming (anymore). I’m mentioning the show, not the game. I - and many others - have no intention of playing the game. Gaming does not hit me in the feels anywhere as hard as movies and shows. Mike reacts to shows and movies. Based on how he reacts to LOST, I know he would love The Last of Us. Breaking Bad is amazing, but if you’re an emotional person it doesn’t have anywhere near the same impact as ie. LOST/TLOU. Just my two cents. And the reviews/IMDB-rating does speak for themselves.

Ben's delivery on the line 'You're MINE!' is so chilling and fantastic. And then he just switches immediately to 'Take all the time you need.' So terribly creepy.

You said it "personally". Maybe Mike wants to watch the show and it's not a bad idea, but let's just say TLOU is a better game than TV show. Don't get me wrong, the TV series is very good, but the game is masterpiece... and saying that TLOU is better than the Sopanos, BB, BCS seems like an exaggeration to me.

Which show has done that before? I would personally rank it above The Wire, the Sopranos, Succession, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Ozark, The Expanse etc.

Hot take: Last of Us is the most overrated show of the past 10 years. It’s all been done before…

Mike - if you haven’t seen The Last of Us yet, I strongly, HIGHLY recommend that instead of movies for a few weeks. I’ve never played the game, I’m not really into zombie-stuff (I can’t stand The Walking Dead for instance), but this show was 10/10 and it’s more of a post-apocalyptic tale of humanity and hulans than anything else. Hits you as hard as the most heart-wrenching moments of LOST from the get-go.
The pilot was probably the best pilot of any TV show I've ever seen, and gets you invested and hooked right away. It will probably be in your top #5 shows ever. It's that good!
Just try to keep spoiler-free, the game has been out for 10 years by now and there's a lot of reactors that watch the show knowing the story from the game, but I, like you, love getting the full story as the creators intended without any spoilers. Obviously they had quite the challenge making a tv show that would satisfy both those that know the story from the games, and for a brand new audience. They nailed it. The creator of the game (Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog game studios and creator/writer of the The Last of Us and Uncharted games) co-created the TV show as well, which is probably why it turned out so brilliant.

Be careful with the rejoicing when you find someone who is part of the Oceanic 6....remember that there are a finite number of spots that get to leave the island...and we have more main characters than 6....something needs to happen with/to the members that are not O6 material, right? :)
P.S. I cheer for Elizabeth Mitchell whether she's O6 or not!
