Please meet Mr. Augustine von Schwarzenhold, the respected owner of "The Blooming Honeysuckle" tavern - if you came with a lady. He's also known as August Schwarz, owner of a true den with bad glory known as the "house on the edge", where soury beer and dirty money are flowing like water. Whoever you are and whatever you brought with you, stay aware for yourself and for your wallet. Because behind the obligious and greasy subservient exterior lies a rotten and corrupted little soul. Some say he sold it to demons long time ago in exchange for prosperity.
But if a gambling passion boils your blood, shiny coins jingle in your pockets and you're seeking adventures - feel free to go to the "house on the edge" and ask for Schwarz. And there - if the keeper likes your look, of course - doors to a world of forbidden amusements and crazy easy money will open.
That's exactly how Sam first got on the "house on the edge" doorstep. For few months he was coming here in search of cheap wine and easy women, to take part in underground fist fights that the keeper was holding on friday evenings. And soon he even rented few rooms on a second floor and eventually moved there. Sam sees Augustine as a good friend of his, ready to support him at any difficult moment by passing him a cup of refreshing drink, and if his pockets are a bit empty at a moment - will generously wait for a day or two about the rent fee. And Sam wont even listen to Cupid's accusing Schwarz of him consciously abusing Sam's forgetfulness and distractability in times of his strong drunkness by taking his weekly payment twice, and sometimes even three times per week.
