Story Styles - Poll

I’ve got three serials running right now and fourth one being written but not posted yet. They are all rather different with different themes and elements. :) And styles.

Here’s a chance to indicate to this writer what some of your favorite TG themes, situations, styles and elements are. Pick as many as you like, even picking opposites if that’s what you want. You can amplify and add other choices in the comments.

Transgender story styles /themes (these can overlap and mutate):

1. Transitional: In a typical transitional story, a transgender person discovers and explores their feelings, ultimately changing their gender presentation successfully. It’s all about the transition.

2. Romantic: The main character’s feelings for another person develop, impel and guide their gender transformation. It’s all about the romance.

3. Magical: Something extraordinary leads to a gender transformation that the MC has to deal with. It’s really about the transformation.

4. Reluctant: The MC is tricked, forced or just blunders into a situation in which they must take up a gender change while resisting this at every opportunity. It’s about the protagonist’s struggle to resist or adapt.

5. Fluid: The MC’s gender identity is changeable, responding to internal and external influences. This may require a final decision, or not. It’s all about the changes.

6. After gender: A slice of life tale about someone who’s just living their life after they have gotten past all the confusion and transitivity. Or have they?

7. Unaware: Focussing on a character who isn't conscious of how their gender is viewed by other folks but comes to an understanding and acceptance of it over the course of the story. It's about the discovery.

Please discuss these and your choices, options and additions in the comments. What are some of your favorite stories and which of these styled would you say describes them.

Maybe you'd need a lucky charm. :)

Magical and reluctant is rather interesting as a combo.

Love Less is usually the closest I get to force femme. :) I've tried writing it but I kind of lose interest in finishing such stories.

I am not the one to help you choose, since I like all the genres you posted. I am glad you didn’t mention forced fem, since they can get mean and nasty, and it’s much more fun to see a character try to work their way out of a given situation.
