If I saw Terry at LAX, I would not be able to stop myself from going up to her and asking for a hug 🤗

2025-03-30 09:12:04 +0000 UTCThe funny part is when Sisko tells em to stay for the party and O'Brian sais "another day isn't going to kill me haha"

2024-11-08 02:21:17 +0000 UTCImagine sitting in the airport and thinking “Omg, that’s Terry Farrel” and THEN see that she’s watching DS9 on her laptop. Yeah, I’d faint! 🤣

2024-10-24 14:14:29 +0000 UTCI enjoy this episode more than A Taste of Armageddon. I like the writing for this episode. I was not a fan of the hair in this episode. The acting and story was great. I had no idea it was originally written for a Bashir and Dax pairing instead of a Bashir and O’Brien episode. This is one of the first great Bashir and O’Brien episodes for pairing. This episode did a great job using Keiko.

2024-08-13 10:01:01 +0000 UTCO’Brien had a slight spring and smile when talking to Keko about Bashire at the end; he meant it, but didn’t have the harshness, he knew he respected him at that point

2024-08-07 13:29:52 +0000 UTCI thought they were going to try to not spill the beans! Why does everyone keep telling Robbie what is coming!!!
Constance
2024-08-07 13:06:29 +0000 UTCThey were running for their lives. It doesn’t matter at all that we missed the scene that he very logically would have rolled down he sleeves at some point because he was cold.

2024-08-07 13:04:38 +0000 UTCKira’s line sets up that weapons that target people exist, and I don’t think it’s crazy that if a person is zapped that their clothes would be too
Constance
2024-08-07 13:02:09 +0000 UTCI don’t think O’Briens attitude at the beginning of their holding spot had anything to do with the harvesters. If it did it undermines all the leg work in previous episodes showing us he doesn’t really like Bashire.

2024-08-07 12:58:15 +0000 UTCAgree with Garrett, when meeting important foreign dignitaries you research their customs. This is also not the first time they are meeting, they would have learned of the custom at previous meetings.

2024-08-07 12:55:23 +0000 UTCShout out to Megan for her editing! Many people don't know how much time and effort it takes to edit video!! It IS work!

2024-08-04 00:01:45 +0000 UTCI had no problem with the lack of damage after the flash (that turned out to not be real) because weapons and other things that destroy living beings but leave behind everything else is a pretty standard thing in sci fi. If their uniforms and com badges were left behind, it would be more fitting though.

2024-08-01 14:33:33 +0000 UTCFairly sure you guys are psychic after I got back from Blackpool on Monday and discovered I had gotten sunburnt. Put on the podcast and immediately get a much needed reprimand XD

2024-07-30 21:47:25 +0000 UTCDang it! Once again, the broadcast version (BBCA, this time) let me down. Whatever Miles says to Keiko about coffee in the last scene was omitted, and I, deprived of the opportunity to judge whether the line was cheesy, cheap, or otherwise (JK, I'd have gone along with it like I always do. 😆)

2024-07-30 17:57:11 +0000 UTCThe Kellerun and the T’Lani are in so much fear that they are wiling to commit murder. The ends justify the means for them. They cannot see that they are perpetrating crimes because they believe it is for the “greater good”. That’s what happens when people in power think they know it all. They forget what really matters. The Kellerun appear in the 32nd century, apparently all is forgiven. No trace of the T’Lani.

2024-07-30 04:56:24 +0000 UTCI get what you're saying, but I mean, it is average as far as their methodology for their ratings. I actually like that we know that they would give an average episode a 5 since it quantifies how much more they enjoyed or disliked an episode vs what they feel is an average episode. Ratings are subjective at the end of the day. If they decide a 5 is what they'll assign to what they feel is an average episode then that is what it is for them. Doesn't mean it has to be that for others.

2024-07-30 04:43:54 +0000 UTCOnce again, 5 is NOT an average rating. This alien ship design is one of a few ships that are used over and over for different aliens. I think I saw it used at least 4 times during the run of TNG. It was used as a Tamarian Cruiser, Klaestron Ship, Bothan Ship and Drayan Ship.

2024-07-29 21:15:28 +0000 UTCIt was season 7 episode 4. I believe Ezri Dax was in that episode and on the field.

2024-07-29 21:13:38 +0000 UTCTerry mentions she wasn't in the baseball episode because of her skin but hadn't she already left the show by that point? I'm sure she is thinking of another episode that was larging shot outside.

2024-07-29 16:44:53 +0000 UTCAdding: Marriage In The Military TL/DR: tough but rewarding (TL/DR = is Too Long, Didn’t Read — thus a summary for those who wish to skim). Long version: I began applying for military scholarship in 1978. 3 years after they made a decision that women could have children and stay in the Service. Before, if you got pregnant, you were out. It would have been a deal-breaker for me but luckily that policy was gone. I was lucky to find (in the mid-80’s) an officer who proposed and we ‘joint spoused’ (means they TRY to get you assigned to the same location). It was NOT easy. But we pulled it off. As a military member, I had a spouse who understood the importance of the mission and when I’d have to work late or travel. I did the same for him. We ‘split’ domestic issues but I was still ‘Mom’ and he was still ‘Dad,’ per our culture in the 90’s. But Keiko, like many military spouses at that time, had to sub-optimize her career. She understood she was marrying someone who may not return and that she couldn’t always know what his job was about. She handled the heavy lift on domestic issues. The non-military military spouse is a freakin’ HERO. They are patriots, courageous in raising family, and typically very smart. The character of Keiko O’Brien is perfect as the military spouse. They show her struggles with some orders, her strength and resiliency, toughness, intellect, and love and compassion. DS9 truly hits the military spouse character out of the park. And they did this in the 1990’s.

2024-07-29 14:54:48 +0000 UTCExcellent podcast! I listen to several podcasts from multiple shows. Yours is the BEST. Hands down. Mostly because you REALLY dig into the scene. What works from all aspects of the filming, plot, and character. It’s MEATY. and you’re industry insight are very useful. Always. As for this episode … I LOVE this episode. #1) Bashir/O’Brien team up FTW, #2) Keiko, the military wife. So well played. Courageous, tenacious, loving. #3) O’Brien’s treatise on marriage. And #4) Quark with a well-intentioned Ferengi toast - very sincere. I’m an 8.5.

2024-07-29 14:07:40 +0000 UTCMy losers of this episode are the T'Lani and Kellerans for thinking mass murder is the solution to anything. Ugh.

2024-07-29 13:47:54 +0000 UTCI forgot how much I liked Armageddon Game when I first watched it. Bashir and O'Brien team-ups are always fun and I loved the start of the development of their friendship.

2024-07-29 12:18:34 +0000 UTCLoved the Bashir and O'Brien Friendship development in this episode. Quark's solemn toast to "good customers" with Dax and Kira is one of my favorite scenes. After listening to Robbie talk about the T'Lani and the Kellerans, I can agree how the T'Lani and Kellerans are like dark Dr. Suess-esque villains.
