Okay I had to add this because I just took Anatomy last semester and one of the last sections that we did was the nervous system and wheel cells are another name for the neuroglia our real things they're what form the blood brain barrier they help facilitate communication between the neurons and that kind of thing so definitely an interesting use of anatomical science in this instance

2024-07-22 21:17:28 +0000 UTCI had to laugh at the Juilliard reference because it made me think of a clip of Alan Tudyk when he was voicing Heihei the chicken in Moana and he's like huh I went to Juilliard for this

2024-02-04 19:35:02 +0000 UTCOn this ep there was a discussion about trying to visualise Quarks, this website has an explorable promenade with a complete Quarks (including the third floor). It also has a Voyager bridge and many other Trek sets you can explore. Just click "enable navigation" https://roddenberry.x.io/2369-deep-space-nine-ds9/

2024-02-02 16:09:19 +0000 UTCFunny, pronunciation is referenced a lot, like people pronouncing words/names differently (or even wrong) is negative for the show…. But it happens all the time in real life. We often say each others’ names differently. And change, often, as we try and get it right! Keep going all. LOVE the show!

2024-02-02 09:26:32 +0000 UTCFor a moment I thought Garrett was going to do a similar take to my favorite haiku ever, from VOY Deadlock - "He died..d..d..d"

2024-02-02 02:29:11 +0000 UTCThe real weirdness with the faces comes later, but we'll discuss that when it comes.

2024-02-01 11:37:06 +0000 UTCThere's a scene in Star Trek: Discovery where a character gives a villain a replicated apple and then says "It's made of our s***, you know?" before explaining how it works. Enterprise also talks about recycling toilet waste into food for their precursor to replicators. McNeill's theory is canon.

2024-01-31 15:24:46 +0000 UTCIf I’m not mistaken there is an entrance into Quarks on the second level of the promenade which I think is the third level of the bar

2024-01-31 03:25:12 +0000 UTCOne of the best things about Star Trek is that there’s a growth in the characters, and I think when a series starts, they have a little blueprint, but as the years go on, they flesh out the characters and they give direction to the characters and that direction is always growth and it’s important that the characters grow. It happened with Tom. It happened with B’Elana. It happened with Janeway. It happened with Seven, it happened with Sisko. It happened with Kira. It happened with Jadzia, with Worf & Quark, etc…

2024-01-31 02:29:54 +0000 UTCOK, so I’m going to say it again Odo had trouble with humanoid faces. He admits this in upcoming episodes it’s just a thing I am thinking the writers or creators wanted to give him a distinctive look, like Data , Spock, Seven of Nine… he’s the wanna be human and Rene played him brilliantly.

2024-01-30 23:20:10 +0000 UTCVery interesting. I didn't know that the latinum props were actually made of wood like the replicas. I thought they were some sort of acrylic. Seems like a lot of props were wood though.

2024-01-30 00:48:08 +0000 UTCYou talked about the irritating accent of Lt. Primin. For German Viewers it was even more confusing as he was synchronized by the same synchro-actor as Chakotay on VOY

2024-01-29 20:57:57 +0000 UTCI'm a denture wearer myself and Fixodent is pretty good as an adhesive. However there is a fine balance between enough to hold them in and too much. Also after many hours with it in your mouth it does begin to break down. Also it makes removing them and replacing them again a pain. Considering Armin and the others probably had all of their teeth I wonder if they had additional issues with it that I didn't experience. Now I don't use any at all as now I've gotten mine to a point that they fit very well.
