Added 2023-10-08 12:10:30 +0000 UTCEmrys will be completing the relevant mission before he reaches Level 3, so I thought it would be good to ask now so there isn’t an awkward pause.
Anthropomorphic transformation: Emrys gains the ability to transform a creature (himself included) into a sentient humanoid species by focusing on them intently the whole time they are transformed. This can be used as a debuff (most humanoids don’t have natural weapons), buff (some humanoids do), communication aid (they learn one language he knows and get bumped up to a minimum of 6 intelligence), or disguise. He can spend a daily spell cast to stop focusing for a few minutes without the spell ending, but he’s unlikely to be doing any deep infiltration.
Shadowboxer: Emrys gains proficiency in unarmed strikes (which will be… occasionally useful with his stats? Maybe?) More importantly, he will gain the ability to roll Perform: Dance in any situation where he would normally roll Acrobatics or Intimidate. Finally, he will gain the ability to fascinate groups of people by dancing outside of combat, fully taking up their attention for up to a minute if they fail a reasonably difficult will save. This makes them unobservant, but they will notice imminent threats like an unsubtle group of armed people setting up an ambush.
Adept Culinarian: anyone that eats a meal Emrys spent at least an hour working on gains an amount of temporary hit points (extra hp that are lost before real hp) equal to his ranks in profession cook and a bonus on saving throws vs nausea for 8 hours.

Emrys will probably never be a brawler, even at the peak of his physical potential from normal working out. Being able to throw a punch would certainly have some utility, such as being able to make opportunity attacks when someone lets their guard down near him, but it’s still going to probably cap out at “a bit better than Ray of Frost” in terms of damage. The ability to distract people and a substantially improved ability to do gymnastic stunts are both likely to come up more often.

2023-10-09 21:44:10 +0000 UTCUgh.. if Em is able to raise his Physical Stats over time (without lowering his Potential* as a Caster) then I like 'Shadowboxer' more.. otherwise the Temp. HP seem nice (especially if he keeps being so fragile^^).
