When it rains...
Added 2022-05-12 11:32:37 +0000 UTCSo, some of you may have read a joking comment I made on QQ about the latest good news being that my father didn't catch covid from his hospital roommate.
The bad news is that both my mother and I did.
I only have mild symptoms (headache, dizziness, throat soreness, plenty of coughing and snot...), but I've had them since last Saturday. She showed as positive on the test straight away, but I've only been positive today (right now, in fact) so I didn't want to make a big thing out of it.
Just as I’ll keep trying to do so.
I’m currently at my apartment, keeping social distance and obviously not going to the hospital, so that kinda makes up for me feeling like shit. I obviously won’t do high quality, high content updates, but I should at least be able to finish some chapters that have been left to languish in the current chaos that is my life.
So… well, my apologies for this month being kinda lightweight so far, but I’ll definitely make up for it as soon as circumstances allow.
Also, take care, everyone. This is definitely far milder than when I first caught the damn thing, but it’s still far from pleasant.

Ah, no, I'm from Spain, which, to be honest, does absolute wonders with its public healthcare system, particularly given the amount actually invested in it. It's kind of one of the things our left-wing politicians keep talking about: how much worse it would be if we were as prone to more unregulated capitalism like the USA (Breaking Bad's plot couldn't happen in here, though, so that's a bad mark against our healthcare).

2022-05-15 22:53:39 +0000 UTCHey, I used to have asthma too! Thankfully, it went (mostly) away during my teeens, but well, having scarred lungs is kind of a lifelong thing. Anyway, I hope your bout of COVID cleared up without worsening anything. I know how the damn thing tends to stick around.

I think we're actually ranked dead last in the developed world for healthcare outcomes in nearly all categories.

2022-05-14 10:11:43 +0000 UTCHuh. You know, our government is always ever so proud of how good our healthcare system is, but the doctor told me to take cough syrup if it got bad and that was it. Weird. Anyway, I think I'm feeling a bit better today, so fingers crossed that the haze inside my brain will lift soon enough :)

Also you can buy an inhaler off shell (at least in my country) if you are coughing too much, and if it gets really bad you can go to a doctor to get prescribed the stronger stuff that is a powder you inhale.
