Voice over Original Cutscene
A bit of a different post, this time it's audio.
It is great being able to work with such talented people. We are putting a lot of work into this project and we are definitely not skimping on the audio side.
Have a listen to the recently recorded cutscene between Kyle Katarn and Mon Mothma! currently not included the sound effects from the cutscene but that will happen when we get to it. (Turn the volume up)

Remember still work to be done with props/assets etc. Also the lighting is not built in these images.

So a little work in progress update. a new area we are working on where Kyle finally gets the Death Star plans.
Since doing this project we have taken various sources of media to try and bring an authentic Star wars experience.
Obviously still in early stages (ignore the materials and lighting !) but we will keep adding updates I feel this will be an awesome element to the base. Any guesses to what this area is referencing?

Hey everyone,
Hope everyone's having a good weekend?
Just a little update, I will probably update the VR build every Sunday, I have loads of fixes and QoL updates that should be uploading tomorrow.
Ryan is also going to be showing off another section of the base which is pretty cool if I do say so myself.
Also in the next few weeks I will be uploading the non-vr version as well. This version is much further on than the VR option. As it features full working menu, ...
Just want to say massive thanks for everyone joining patreon. It’s good to see so many passionate Dark Forces fans and vr enthusiasts come on board.
We will keep working hard to make sure this project will be done to the highest standards. I know the demo is a bit janky but I hope you enjoy it for what it is!

Publicly announced VR.
Flatscreen will get some love next month!
So I tried a package build, I think the vr looks visually good and plays well. The ai however don’t react the way they do on the editor version for some reason. But I will do some digging and see what I can do.

Just dropping some screens to show some designs of the base. Still need more props and detailing, but I am quite happy with the work so far!

We have some concept art fresh off the press for a newly designed immersive display.
This will be essiential for the VR player to keeps tabs on health, and also look cool as heck on the base game Kyle!

Very small vid, but new behaviour states for the ai to react to object impacts and sound effects (such as doors opening/elevators moving etc)

Update on a new weapon we are working on. We are revamping the Bryar to be more DF1 accurate. Many thanks to discord user @Four_Tony for working on the mesh and Ryan who is going to be cleaning it up and texturing.
I am sorry for this everyone. While Ryan is hard at work on building assets for the level I just wanted to quickly show off improvements to the physics behaviour of NPCS. I tried very hard to replicate the feel of the euphoria physics engine, especially with the falling.
Bonus of added Christmas music.

Been a bit quiet on the Dark Forces front, however I have been doing development on VR to try and make the ai somewhat comparable to boneworks/blade and sorcery. Ai can predict players punch and move out of the way, and also put their guard up to block. Any hit on the ai over a certain velocity force will do damage, and the ai is also an active ragdoll throughout.
Some people have been asking for VR mode in DF, would something like this interest you in regards to Dark Forces?

Starting from today I shall be doing a Patreon only series of mini videos, showcasing ideas/experimental features that we could feature in our project. Such as enemies limping, surrendering, sounding alarm etc.
So hopefully you guys can let me know if you like the ideas or have an other feedback of what to implement for Ai.

New enemy, the Imperial Commando. Rigged, skinned and ready to go.

We are working on a new crow model, so we thought we will release this one to you fine folk.
The model is split into 4 parts:
Body
wings
turret
details
You will need to make a material for all 4 using the textures provided. Look at the material example for reference.
