Our next video involves a LOT of nail polish

Hey guys! For our next video we’re gonna try to water marble an entire keyboard! Have we gone keyboard crazy? Maybe. Keyboards are just such a fun blank canvas, and it’s like “functional art” when you’re done with them (well semi-functional… I’m looking at you velvet keyboard…)

We’re using nail polish as the water marble medium (dripping it onto the surface of water, then dipping keys into it). Our goal is to do all the keys at once so that the design is continual but first we tried some small scale tests.

After 3 tests we did get progressively better, but one thing that snagged us up is how the water droplets messed up the surface finish when they dried (it was tough to dab them off). We’re now in the process of doing a bunch more small scale tests to see what helps in that regard, but overall I’m feeling positive! -Katelyn
