We're starting a nostalgic project!

Did y’all ever do paint-by-numbers growing up? Well we got to thinking about them recently and had the thought “what if we could do a paint-by-numbers… with RESIN!?” We figured we could laser cut some clear acrylic to make individual “cells” that we could pour colored resin into, after making a design and a color guide. So of course for the design, we wanted to do a Joob. And I was inspired by my childhood love of Lisa Frank to do a Lisa Frank inspired Joob design!!!

Eventually we’re gonna make a full poster, but before I sunk more time into the art we wanted to do some test laser cuts to make sure this idea was actually viable. We tested some different line thicknesses and material thickness, and realized that we needed the material to be like ¼” and we needed slightly thicker lines than we originally thought in order to keep it from breaking.

We also realized that this project is definitely going to be more work than we expected (who is surprised? Not me haha) But after seeing the test cuts, we’re SO excited to design the full poster and do this project!!! -Katelyn
