So first off, Evan’s rotisserie was a success! (check out our last Patreon post for context). It held the weight of our heavy planter and we ended up with a smooth resin finish that’s still thick enough to glow when in the dark.
While thinking about the design of this “garden,” one idea we had is we want it to look like a “normal” (aka “non-glow-in-the-dark”) garden in the daylight, but then be a fun little surprise when the lights are off. So we started painting the plants with that in mind.

We got glow paint that was basically invisible in the daylight, and tried to paint just parts of the leaves that made sense (like the spots, veins, etc) Isn’t that so cool? I don’t know why but the glow paint being “incognito” in the daylight brings me so much joy. It kinda reminds me of our glowing resin “marble” table tops on our side tables that we did about a year ago (still love those btw).
We also made some glowing resin mushrooms, crystals, and pebbles. The mushrooms are so cute, and I love how the pebbles look like real pebbles (but yes, they glow too!)

I just hope once assembled it all looks cool and cohesive! -Katelyn
