Hey guys! So this year we are gonna try resin-ing pumpkins again - but with a new, much requested tactic. We're gonna mummify them first!!!!
It seems like after the huge juicy stinky Francis failure of last year, moisture was the biggest culprit. So logically removing moisture would make them work this year right? RIGHT? Please let us be right... I don't know if we can handle another Francis moment.
So like last time, we made two jack-o-lanterns (one as a control, one to cover in resin) and we've been letting them sit in bags of salt in our garage.

And yes, they do have names. The one on the left (and the top of the post) is Perry. He is an unsure little lad that will be our control pumpkin. On the right is Bean, who is looking very confident about being resined. We haven't told him what happened to Francis, let's just let him enjoy his moment ok?
Anyways, we're REALLY excited to see how the mummification affects the final result. We'll keep y'all posted! -Katelyn
