3D printed knife prototyping - rough cut!
Added 2018-03-11 17:16:37 +0000 UTCHey y'all! Here is the rough cut of the knife prototyping video we were talking about in the mini vlog. We can do a few minor things and leave it as a rougher second channel video, or we can add more voiceovers, an intro and outro, and add some video asides where we use the prototype to point out and explain different things in more detail. We did get to use some really interesting software and machines to make this, so it might be interesting, but since we filmed it without the intent of making it it's own video, we aren't actually in the video much (which is why we'd want to add some asides where we talk about things more). Curious to hear y'alls thoughts! -Katelyn

Yeah it felt really weird not being able to do the things. Not a huge deal if it's just a few scenes of the larger knife video but we worry that it wouldn't feel right as a full video. I think right now we might add a little VO but still put it on the second channel

It's weird to have an E&K vid without E&K (reminds me of Garfield without Garfield, which if you haven't seen it is truly one of the best things ever on the internet) but yeah... This is some interesting stuff. Context inserted would make it perfect imho.

I think what we were wondering is it worth the effort to try to explain what we're doing more and make it into something first channel worthy? It may not be possible since we didn't really film it with the intention. Also it's resin that we printed it in!

2018-03-11 18:08:37 +0000 UTCI think it's already perfect for the second channel. It really doesn't need to be polished. The only question I have is what is it printed in? That looks different from the PLA raft I get.
