EDIT 19/01/25:  V4 has been re-exported out to work with the latest #TU8 from EA.

Please be aware that since the original release of this mod, EA have released their ‘Gameplay Refresh’ update for #TU8. This MAY include some fairly big changes to the gameplay and it COULD disrupt the balance of certain gameplay features included in the mod.

 The changes could actually be positive, but it’s important to take this into consideration.

Please understand the following:

- The initial V4 release for #TU8 is a re-export of the #TU7 version.

- The upcoming V5 will be pushed back slightly as I’ll need some time to account for the new changes.

Remember, IF you're experiencing a random speed increase or decrease - don't panic, this will settle down. It may take a couple of hours or a couple of days - but it will settle. Don’t play for 5 minutes and conclude too much, too quickly as it’s very likely you might just be experiencing one of these.

**IMPORTANT**

If you’re new around here, please make sure that you take the time to read my ‘FC25 Mod Guide’ FIRST. This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to understand key factors about the mod.

There’s some CRUCIAL SETTINGS that are absolutely necessary to get this version set-up properly. 

After you read this, then read the 'V3 Details' .pdf. I stress to you the importance of taking the time to read the information provided in the download.

If you don’t get the settings right, you’re going to end up with a very ‘off’ gameplay.

The Story Continues…


V1 was about getting the movement foundations in place. It was about freeing up the ball, enhancing the ball physics, balancing passing/shooting speeds and setting the base core in many other areas to build from.

V2 the mod began to develop its character. This was a massive update that focused on putting in place some very important, fundamental systems into place regarding positioning and off-ball behaviour. The rigidity of FC IQ was removed and teams defend together, no longer bound by an invisible line.

V3/3.5 built on these foundations, with a big focus on the attacking side of the game!

V4 focuses on balance, style, substance and depth! I’ve worked so hard to ensure that many different areas of gameplay combine together to ensure the gameplay has a significant character and personality!

V4 is easily the BIGGEST update of my FC25 mod so far and is possibly the largest overall update any of my mods have EVER seen!

WHAT’S NEW IN V4?

        + FC IQ: ‘BASES’ - REFINED GAMEPLAY STYLES!!!


FC IQ has undergone more MAJOR changes in V4!

Let’s face it - FC IQ is a complicated beast and it has a huge impact on gameplay.

V4 introduces an all new 'Balanced' FC IQ base. The ‘Balanced’ base is integrated into V4. Attackers, CMs and CAM’s will look to push up the field, but defenders and defensive midfielders will provide cover.

Here they are in order from most conservative to most aggressive (Full Gameplay Package only):


+ PHYSICALITY, FOULS & TACKLING VARIETY!!!

A number of features all roll into the one here to add so much more off-ball personality into the game! V4 sees the introduction of increased physicality, collisions, fouls and tackling variety into my FC25 mod!

This has a BIG impact on the overall depth of the gameplay experience. There are now so many more potential outcomes in collisions and tackling - all based on attributes and ability. 

You now have to carefully consider your physical approach to the game. Stronger players are much more likely to win the physical battle and agile dribblers are now more difficult to steal the ball from.

This results in a true fight for the ball and also sees a lot more fouls and variety.

I have also HEAVILY invested time into ensuring that defenders are more difficult to steal the ball from and head into an open goal. This doesn’t mean that it can never happen - but it’s much more difficult now than it was before due to a number of reasons. 

+ ATTACKING CREATIVITY & FLUIDITY

Significant improvements have been made to increase attacking variety, creativity and fluidity. Attacking players will make more intuitive runs, play with more personality, the CPU is less wasteful on the ball, they will now consider their position to dribble more carefully and are overall much more intelligent.

+ SHOOTING ERRORS & VARIETY

Shooting errors are finally here!!! These have been carefully constructed to provide the most in depth shooting system in any football game. They are based on many factors such as body position, balance, pressure, angle, shot type - and of course attributes!

There is a VERY mild version included in the V4 standalone.

The 'Full Gameplay Package' allows you to customise these much further. There is a ‘Strong’ and ‘Subtle’ versions as well as the ability to fine-tune CPU specific shooting errors (Full Gameplay Package only).

+ STAMINA AND FATIGUE DEPTH

You now need to be more considered when using high pressing tactics. Fatigue will set in faster. There are also a number of options around this in the ‘Full Gameplay Package’.

For example, I have attempted to fix a legacy FIFA/FC bug where CBs stamina drains far more quickly than other positions.

I also have a ‘Strong Fatigue’ option, a ‘Reduced Stamina’ option and a ‘Increased Short Term Fatigue’ option to really tweak that area to your liking.

+ REFINEMENTS & BALANCES

A ton of work has gone into carefully balancing many more areas of gameplay to ensure the elements combine for the most realistic experience possible. This includes refinements to dribbling fluidity, crossing, passing, movement, pressing, defensive awareness and much more!

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + A COLOSSAL AMOUNT OF ALL NEW OPTIONS!!! 250+ options in TOTAL!!!

I’ve already covered some of the bigger new available options in the above, but expect SO MUCH MORE!!!

There are a monstrous 250+ options already available in FC25, massively eclipsing the 180 that were available by the end of FC24’s lifespan.

There really is no other gameplay mod like this anywhere! Each option is carefully built, tested and balanced also, ensuring you are not sacrificing any quality when using the available options.

Here’s just a little more about SOME of the new options also included:

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Two All New Bonus Standalone Additions:

-'Slow & Fluid'

-'Fast & Fluid'

I have added in TWO all new BONUS standalone versions of V4 in the 'Full Gameplay Package'. These have been carefully created and balanced to add that extra touch of fluidity to the movement base.

Players will turn walking into sprinting much more fluidly in this version, as well as specific other areas of the movement have been tweaked and refined to offer a fresh balance.

Note: These bonus versions cannot be paired with any of the ‘walk speed’ or ‘turning intensity/intensity to sprint’ options.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + A ninth and all new positioning base - ‘Increased Midfield Pressure’.

This base is for those who want the midfield line to pressure that extra bit higher up the pitch.

When the ball is being played out from the back for example, or even in transition, the midfield line will now position themselves higher to create an extra layer of resistance.

As always, I have also included many variations of this base, allowing you to combine this many other bases. This means you can pair this new ‘Increased Midfield Pressure’ variant together or alone with ‘Ball Side’, ‘More Pressing’, ‘Defensive Line Drop, ‘Mid Drop’ and the already included V4 base.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + ‘Reduced Shot Speed’ UPDATED Option

This option is massively improved compared to the original release. Using this option results in much more variety in shooting speeds and is scaled based on a number of different types of shot types and attributes. You will also find more variety in shooting when using this option. For example, you will see more CPU ground shots.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + More Blocks & Less Blocks

Refine your blocked shots and interceptions with the ‘More Blocks’ and ‘Less Blocks’ options. These were both very popular in FC24 and have been redesigned for FC25.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Increased Defensive Difficulty Option

This option impacts a number of areas around defensive reactions (scaled based on attributes of course). This is a great option for those wanting to increase the defensive solidity in the game even further.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Run Length Options - Shorter, Longer and Default

You now have the ability to customise exactly how you want attacking runs to look in FC25. As the name suggests, using these options will either increase or reduce the LENGTH of attacking runs.

Importantly, you can pair any of these options with the available ‘Attacking Runs’ options to create a unique experience. For example you could pair the ‘Run Length - Shorter’ option with the all new ‘Attacking Runs - Ultimate’ option to create a gameplay that features loads of short attacking runs.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + CPU Alternative 4 (Faster) + CPU Alternative 5 (Slower)

CPU Alternative 4 builds on the previous CPU Alternative 3 and creates a CPU with even faster decision making. This option presents a real challenge and is scaled based on various player traits.

CPU Alternative 5 is an option that presents slower decision making for those who want a more measured CPU.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Intensity to Sprint Options

You can now increase how fast your players will reach a sprint. There is an option for each movement base, just be sure to match it with the correct version!

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Conservative CB Option

Ensure that your CBs specifically don’t get too adventurous in attack and will be much more careful about vacating their position.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Team Differences Options (Experimental)

When using 'Tactical' and 'Dynamic' CPU Options, I have made changes to 

encourage a more diverse and varied gameplay experience. This should results in teams having a stronger sense of identity. Please note that this is a largely experimental option!

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Reduced Defensive Coverage Option (& Strong variant)

This is an option for those who are wanting to open up the gameplay to become more attacking.

(FULL GAMEPLAY PACKAGE ONLY) + Legacy Movement Options

For specific reasons, I have slightly adapted the movement bases for V4. However, if you prefer those that existed before - I’ve got you covered with the ‘Legacy Movement’ options (‘Legacy Walk Speed’ options also included).

ESSENTIAL SETTINGS

The following settings are ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to get V4 set-up and working correctly. If you don’t follow these steps, you will experience some very strange things.

First of all, it’s important to mention that you MUST use a standalone version of my mod for everything to work. The options are tailored to fit within the ‘world’ of the standalone mod.

SIMULATION SETTINGS: Custom

I know there is a lot of debate about ‘Simulation v Custom’ modes. I remain convinced that Simulation mode is only a slider set and have therefore decided to base my gameplay around ‘Custom’ mode.

Reminder: Career mode uses ‘Simulation’ mode by default - remember to change this to Custom when you enter career mode.

Please follow the below two steps.

STEP 1: SIMULATION SETTINGS: CUSTOM

STEP 2: LINE LENGTH SLIDER 49/49 FOR BOTH USER AND CPU

This step is ESSENTIAL. To be very clear, it is not just that you need a 49 setting as such, it is actually much more important than that. This setting on 49 ACTIVATES an important change in the mod and is necessary.

You cannot play this mod on Simulation Mode, it will create some very weird positioning and behaviour.

Note: If you switch out of Custom mode, it resets the sliders. So please remember if you switch out and then back to Custom, you need to re-enter the 49/49 line length slider.
