Madison here - I have a ReZERO theory

Corbin and I just got on the road home from christmas with my family and we were talking about ReZero, kind of rehashing what the story's actual progression has been, taking the return by death out of it to the extent that we can.
While having this discussion, I had what might be considered a brain blast (iykyk). We have not yet started s3. I just want my theory dated and timestamped for the record LOL
PLEEEEASE DO NOT CONFIRM OR DENY - NOT A HINT, INSINUATION, NADA - I just want a time stamp in case I'm right.
SPOILERS FOR RE ZERO SEASON 2
I think Mama Fortuna - or a sister, I'm wondering maybe a twin? - is somehow Satella or the Witch of Envy (I think that's the right lady, the one who has the shadowy powers and was in the mourning garb). I came to this theory when we were talking about Beetlegeuse's story. We were discussing how when we first met Beetlegeusenin s1, he was all "HOW DOES HER LOVE HANG AROUND YOU SO DENSELY??" and "DOES SHE LOVE YOU ABOVE ME?" or some mess like that.
Well, when we meet regular degular Geuse in s2, he doesn't speak that way - UNTIL he's killed Fortuna and talks about love as a tangible entity after Pandora's "love can never be wrong" bs in his ear. And folks KEPT talking about how much Emilia looks like Satella but she also looked notably like Fortuna.
Is he somehow able to sense a Fortuna-esque energy? Is Satella's love somehow an extension of love for Emilia? His love for Emilia reflects her (Satella's) own? THESE ARE RHETORICAL QUESTIONS.
anywho, I love this fkn show - it's like a constant brain teaser, but in anime form, WHICH MAKES IT BETTER

Also what makes it more sad is that when you look back at s1 ep 15 before petelgeuse twists rems body, he says to a chained up Subaru: “look, you must look. By doing nothing, you practiced sloth. As a result, this is girl is dead! How awful… how awful! With my arm, with my fingers, you… you… you killed her!!” As he has tears in his eyes... He was definitely talking about himself killing fortuna 😞

2024-12-28 16:57:55 +0000 UTCGood theory! There’s a lot to unpack with satella as her character is shrouded in mystery. Maybe you’re on to something tho. Time will tell! Speaking of geuse - Do you remember in s1 ep 23 when Emilia freezes one of petelgeuse finger, and she starts crying? That was crazy foreshadowing. It’s as if she felt she did something to someone she cared about. A lot of people also think fortuna is puck too as you guys have theorized previously. So there’s a lot of connections that are mysterious. Also the one thing about re zero - there’s currently over 100 hot topic theories, that’s how convoluted it is haha. The author is purposely leaving crumbs everywhere until the one day he will decide to tell us the true story! I believe re zero will be another 10 years before it ends. I imagine over 400 eps too so it’ll be a long journey to get answers!!
