Shell Voicings - All Shapes For Multiple String Sets
Added 2021-01-29 22:16:08 +0000 UTCA comprehensive outline of shell voicings (in standard tuning) for the E,A,D, and G strings. Shell voicings are essentially 7th chords, with the 5th removed. I believe that these are a foundational chord for playing Math Rock + Jazz in standard tuning.
Shell voicings are especially useful in that they
1) Provide the rudimentary structure of a 7th chord.
2) It provides an easy structure that can have extensions added to it. I.e, if you have a structure that is already spelt as 1-3-7, you can find the 9th, and that will create a 9th chord.
