GAM276: Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square

I feel the need to emphasize that by the time this comes out for everyone else, it will at least be December.

Comments

Dolly might not be in Star Trek, but she was in The Orville

I thought the same thing, except I was convinced it was THEIR house and they were so obsessed with having a baby they just bought baby clothes & hung them all over the house

Liz Rosenberg

Am I the only one who understood clearly Eli's Dolly Parton impression?

Eat The Rich did I stutter

Found it. It's the first episode of the second season. It's creatively named "The Child".

Neptune

To be honest, I had to look her up and even then the only thing I think I've seen her in is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and I don't recognize her, so... Different audiences.

Marsh, ‘You can never be too rich or too thin’ is a quote attributed to Wallis Simpson, an American lady you may have heard of... 🙂

I actually kinda liked this movie? I feel like it could have been so much better if it only focused on the scrooge lady, the angels, and the adorable little girl. Those characters I actually liked and I kinda cared about what happened to them. Could have enjoyed it as a super cheesy Christmas film. But omg the pastor couple was terrible and the songs were so lazy... ha ha which almost makes it worse, it's less painful when something is just unsalvageable it's more like "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" cause it had potential.

Lee La

Aside from the painful songs, I love hated this. I may have even teared up at the end. Dolly’s lips are looking rooough, but she must be 90 by now? Now for the podcast...if I dare...

The Real Moorey

I'm just here to watch people rant about how Eli has personally ruined their lives by talking about a Dolly Parton movie and how they won't be a patron anymore.

Lee La

Movie Fighters did Christmas in the Square last Friday. It's fun how differently people see the same bit of media.

Troublemaker Jake

Me: They're going after Dolly Parton? How DARE you. How very dare you. Me after I listened to the episode and tried watching it: Always trust Eli and his film choices. This movie is an experrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrience.

Tyler Stanley

re:cum-related Star Trek: Do you remember the episode of ST:TNG where Deanna Troi suddenly had a baby?

Neptune

Holy shit, I tried to watch this when I was really high on Thanksgiving, and freaked the fuck out. I got as far as the pastor couple, and I was like "Are they in a house or a baby clothes store? Why would they be in a baby clothes store if she's sad about not being pregnant? Wait, do they OWN a baby clothes store? Why would a pastor own a baby clothes store? Do they just want kids so bad that they've hung baby clothes on the wall?!? What is that bucket?? I can't do this."

Maris

"This isn't a fairy tale," no, it has ANGELS, that's totally different from fairies because they're REAL!

Denise Huston

Marsh keeps saying that Dolly Parton is "a Star Trek" like that's what the aliens in that show were called, and it's goddamn crazy. It's the kind of thing that only a Battlestar Galactica would say.

Evan

Little sad that the guys didn’t know who Jennifer Lewis was 😅😅😅

Nathan Sperry

Not sure if Star Trek did cum transportation but in Deep Space Nine they had written Keiko O’Brien as being pregnant but then the actress who played Major Kira got pregnant so in the show they transported the foetus into Kira and then did some awkward poly jokes

crystaloftruth

Christmas-tacular begins early!
