Croakers
Man, I hate these things. Pallidoads at least look sort of like a person, but these are just WEIRD. Almost look like they belong on another planet. Anyway, Croakers are some kind of monster that like to live in trees. They can't live outside of moist places, so keep watch for them in jungles and swamps.
Croakers are already dangerous by themselves, but even without getting crushed to death by their huge bodies, you're not out of the woods just yet. They can vomit up these rope creatures that'll bite you, and the rope things themselves vomit up some kind of exploding magical bow!! Like one of those nightmare machines the Engineer Corps whips up. Terrifying stuff.

Those Nightmare machines are called Guns. And theyre based on this creature's innate ability to do this.
I was once enamoured with the idea of figuring out how these creatures worked, on a biological level. To be able to create so much complexity using only biological material.
However attempts to study these creatures always ends in failure, not only are Croakers dangerous when they're alive, they have so many volatile chemicals inside them that even being near a dead one can be a danger; and they've been known to outright explode without warning, making storage of them for study nearly impossible and outright foolish.
