Dude. You've gotten so negative and it makes it tough to want to keep watching... The entire series, our characters have mentioned wanting to get a life close to what things were like before...thats entirely what the commonwealth is. THATS why our people are giving it a chance. Its weird how negative you are about it... How is "this place" a joke/farce? 50K people can live their lives and not have to worry about death walking outside...because its a big city, they may never have to go back outside. You personally wanting to live out and fight the dead and never having food is kind of a weird take... just being honest

You have to admit with the kinds of luxuries and protection that place has it’d be at least tempting to stay. Where else can you get cancer surgery and full on hospitals
