Unfortunately kids getting shot in the crossfire happens at least once a year in Baltimore. Another sign of when it was made that gun battle today would have had more assault weapons today but they were still banned and harder to get back then. Throughout the episode you had the black and the white district commanders talking about how senseless this is. The white guy is the real Jay Landsman whose name they used for your favorite sergeant. They gave him a role after he was getting so much crap for how he was portrayed. In actuality the Bunk character was inspired by him.
