GIVEAWAY CONTEST #5!!

Hey everyone! We are doing another giveaway on Patreon and the items we are giving away for free is an Attack on Titan blind bag figure and Vinland Saga Askeladd figure!

To win this, in the comments of this post, answer this question:

What is your favorite Vinland Saga moment and why? (Please keep in mind that Molly and I only watched up to 2x13 so far, so please no spoilers!)

We will read all your answers and choose our favorite one! I would rather just choose one of you randomly to be more fair but Patreon doesn't allow that so I am going to choose one that stands out to me and is well thought out.

As stated in Patreon's blog post on this topic, "For a contest to be allowed on Patreon, the winner cannot be determined by pure chance... Why is this contest acceptable: this contest relied on creator choice, or judgement, rather than chance to pick the winner."

The winner will be announced in a Patreon post in 5 days time! Thanks so much for all your support and this is very small token of our gratitude to you all. And, don't worry if you do not win this one, there will be more giveaways in the future!

The whole episode Oath is obviously crazy powerful, but if I gotta narrow it down I'd say when Thorfinn starts climbing. With Thors being at the top of the pit, carrying his sins but trying to walk a righteous path, and Askeladd at the bottom of the pit urging Thorfinn back up, it almost works as a metaphorical retelling of season 1. I also just love the touch that every time we've seen Thorfinn wake up from a nightmare he's reaching up the same way, so at this point we realize he's been falling into the pit over and over in his dreams, and trying to claw his way out. Adore the execution of the scene too, between the music, the voice acting, and the shift in art style as he reaches up. It feels like he's transcending in some way. Finally, stepping outside the specifics of Thorfinn's story, it's just a powerful metaphor for perseverance, finding hope and motivation in a seemingly hopeless situation/world, and reaching towards a seemingly unachievable ideal, which are themes of the story I really connect with (between my personal struggles with depression and, you know, the constant stream of atrocities in the world).

Not a super fancy one but my favorite moment is probably that little lamb jumping on Thorfinn to wake him up in his dream lol
