He is not dead, he simply returns to the spirit realm city of Bandle City, the home of the Yordles. Though I do not think it is explicitly said if there are multiple Bandle Cities per alternate reality or just one where alternate realities converge. But Heimerdinger is alive somewhere in the multiverse

Also the lead show runner confirmed that Caitlyn died in the blast in the alternate universe. Basically Vi and Caitlyn are always meant for each other in every universe, except this one. Because they both died from the explosion.

Also the reason why Heimerdinger blew up and not Ekko was because Ekko was protected by the time loop device because he was the one operating it. Heimerdinger blew up because he was an anomaly too, which is also why he disappeared when fixing the machine.

2025-02-27 00:52:32 +0000 UTCImo, the "better outcome" wasn't because of Vi dying. It was because Heimerdinger was there for almost 3 years before Ekko arrived. In those years, he solved the issues between Piltover and Zaun. Heimerdinger only does this because of his time spent with Ekko in the undercity. Also maybe Silco gets the letter that Vander wrote him that we saw in an earlier episode.

2025-02-27 00:16:22 +0000 UTCCool behind the scenes tid bits They shot the scene in 4 frames per second because it symbolizes two things 1)It symbolizes Ekko time abilities in the game because he can go back 4 seconds in time. 2)It's also post to represent how Ekko didn't want to leave the moment, he wanted to stay in the moment forever. It also is post to match their fight from season 1, episode 7, they actually shot that fight scene in 4 frames per second also. Also the blue rose pendant he gave powder, symbolizes his "unattainable love" because blue roses cannot exist in reality and because in their reality, they never got the chance to be. Also you should look up the lyrics for the song, it's quite beautiful or just listen to an overlay with English lyrics "ma meilleure ennemie" (that's if Molly hasn't already listened to a whole Arcane playlist already lol) And you wouldn't know this since you don't know league lore, but Heimdinger is a Yordle. In league universe, rules/lore Yordles cannot technically die. They are literal "immortal spirits" meaning instead of dying, they just respawn in their homeland called "Bandle City" which is like a pocket dimension that sits "behind" Runeterra. Just imagine it as like a two walls next to each other, but again different dimensions. Yordles can actually travel all of Runeterra in seconds because they can access small portals that exist in different regions of the land. It just transports them back to their homeland first, then from their they can jump into another portal that can take them to a different region.
