If I recall correctly, the boomstick comment is an Evil Dead: Army of Darkness reference and not sure if this is pointed out, but Alison Down (Olivia) played Jean Barolay in BSG

I love Olivia, and I can’t even tell you WHY I love her yet because spoilers lol. The next episode is one of my absolute favs for Jeniffer & Deacon. And the beginning, Olivias voice isn’t dubbed, you’ll understand when you see it. The actress is brilliant.
