Comic Update 039 - 2/5/2024

I want to catch you all up on BKI things as well as give an update on where I'm at since our last update post almost a year ago.

But first I would like to apologize for my absence and silence for the past year. And to do that, I want to give context about the things that have happened to me since 2021. So, in lieu of my intention, today I'm going to be making another pretty long post after this one giving context and my experiences where I go in-depth on my time away.

I realize my time away (unannounced) for last year was some bullshit. I apologize for that ☹️

Here's your comic update for February 2024:

1) Patreon bs

So in my time away I have come back to find Patreon has all but done away with tags in place of..."Collections" and I'm confused.

So today I will reorganizing all the BKI posts on the Patreon into collections that make accessing chapters, updates, NSFW content, etc. more easily available to y'all.

2) Chapter 8

I haven't worked on Chapter 8 much since receiving the finished art pages from Daryl last year. This is because after completion I realized I wanted to tell the story transition a little differently for this chapter and Chapter 9.

I'll still finish the pages as is and will likely do edits for these sections as Chapter 9 comes about. I should have some of these to post as early as next week.

3) Chapter 9

I'm currently in talks with Daryl about Chapter 9. Haven't set any dates or anything yet, but will keep y'all posted. 

One thing I've been thinking about is posting scripts and ideas as they come to me so y'all get more background into how the next chapters will look before they're made into art form. I might make a post like this later tonight or tomorrow, who knows! 😆

4) Website update

I'm going to be making some updates to the jamieschleisman.com website as well. I haven't added any information about the 2nd Kickstarter or FlameCon from 2022 to the site so I definitely want to update those things with photos, stats, etc.

For those of you that supported me and for those that stuck around, I really appreciate your patience. Thank you for helping me through the past couple years.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to Direct Message me. I know I have been gone for some time, but my intention for this year is to return, fully. I don't want you to lose your trust in the story. Or me. And I want to prove that I am deserving of it.

That matters to me more than anything.
