Cutting back
Added 2019-08-25 13:23:27 +0000 UTCOver the past several months I have had a growing concern that the current amount of rewards I am generating is actually too much for me to handle every month.
This is not a full time job for me, unfortunately. I simply am not making enough money to quit work and support myself entirely on art. If I ever get to that point, I would love to do so, but right now I still have to maintain an actual, real life job.
As it stands right now, in general, I am generating 8+ comic pages, 10+ sketches and 6+ color pin-ups every month, generally quite a few more. This has proven too much for me to be able to keep up with and it has caused a great deal of pressure and stress to try get things out in a timely manner. Between working on stuff for Patreon and my job, I haven't had an actual day off in months. I simply can't maintain this pace.
So it's time to make some hard decisions. I have decided to make the following changes for now and see how that works moving forward.
1) I will no longer be doing the monthly sketch request stream. Sketch requests will have to come from either the standard Weekly Sketch Requests or from F-Cup and Bra Buster tier support.
2) I will be dropping the "Bonus Pic" for now. This one is the most likely to return if time permits.
3) The Bra Buster slot will now be for sketches only, still for up to 3 characters. But inks and colors will no longer be an option.
I am hoping that these changes will make things more manageable in the future.

In all the years I've known you, you have been very giving. I'm happy whenever or whatever you can do but do not stress yourself out. I'm not going anywhere. Your personal health and well being should be first. The rest will come along as you see fit. The choices you made sound very fair to me. You take all the time you need or real life. :D

2019-08-26 15:41:51 +0000 UTCI'm fine with the changes, although I'm a little bummed about the monthly sketch request being that it's only once a month and how fun they are. But what's more important is that you are not burning yourself out. That unnecessary stress can lead to other problems down the road. I have a suggestion: I think you should also shorten the length of the comics. The mini-comics you talked about doing can help a lot with this, leaving room in your schedule to do other things.

I don't really know much about the inner processes but if it's to much then stop because even without those things your taking out you still offer way way way more then most other artists on here with the low Barrier to entry to even get to see it all. So I am very welcome to these changes if it means the art not being to stressful on you

You were the first artist i ever supported in Patreon and it has made a impact in my life. You know the only time i had made changes regarding my support level have been for extreme reasons. You just keep doing your thing, but at a healthy pace :)

Like you said, you're not in a position to do this full time yet (I look forward to the day you can do it!) so you have to keep priorities straight. Plus, burnout can be a dangerous thing to have looming. So I think cutting back so you can let your inspiration and creative juices flow could be a good thing.
