We started to investigate inflation in the economy, using the cost of raid consumables as a baseline. But then we figured something else out - raiding is expensive, so how do players afford it? Does doing normal content earn enough, or is the answer to boost or buy gold? Turns out, the WoW economy might not be designed to be part of a fun video game. Either by design or by accident, it might just be a funnel to the WoW token.
