.......................................................

This post is part one of a series of bi-daily posts I'll be making for each model of the T-Rex Exosuit. There are going to be quite a few, and I'll give each one a small writeup. Expect plenty of reveals in the serial itself, rather than here on Patreon!

The T-REX, or, Transforming Replicant Exosuit, is a concept I dreamed up after strongly debating the, ahem, Hypersuits from Cryopod Classic. Those will make their return eventually in Cryopod Refresh, but for now, the nanite-based biosuit will stand for humanity's current power level. T-REX's revolve around a circular device strapped to the host's chest, with the straps and the primary ignition device all containing a multitude of nanites that emerge when the user presses the activation buttons three times. The nanites emerge and swarm over their host, hardening in an instant and becoming a seamless, metallic suit of armor.

In this image, we see Kar wearing a T-REX in its inactive state.

T-REX's originally came to my mind because I wanted something flexible and adaptable to many different environments and combat options. Demons have all kinds of cool gadgets and abilities, so why can't humanity have counters to demonic magic?

Enter the T-REX, a suit that can melt and adapt to any biological entity provided it has enough nanites to encase them in armor. T-REX's come in many forms, and have all sorts of functions. Flight, stealth, speed, power, defense... they possess incredible defensive properties innately due to nanites bonding at the molecular level, yet they also retain an uncanny flexibility that no ordinary metal might allow. Crusader armor looks cool and all, but it doesn't allow for the high level of speed and agility needed to combat powerful demons.

Here, we see the initial design MWTX mocked up. It had too many visible muscles and didn't look androgynous or armored enough for my tastes, so I had him rework it into the image we see in the OP.

The nature of the T-REX's helmet serves to intimidate demons by making humanity into a faceless threat. However, the T-REX's give their users one-way visibility of the battlefield around them, thanks to the nanite-based viewscreens inside their helmets.

T-REX's allow the average human to gain enough power to combat a Demon Lord evenly, with more skilled wearers having a chance at fighting Barons, and possibly even Dukes. This solution to combat allows me to make humans into quite a threat after only six years of progress, while also giving them the versatility needed for interesting combat situations.

In the next post, we'll take a look at another exosuit variant, which I have dubbed the Clinician. Clinicians help humanity's soldiers by providing frontline medical care, with armor for the doctors on call!

More on that model in a couple of days!
