Imps. Grunts. Lords. Barons. Dukes. Emperors.
Most demons can effectively be slotted into one of six progressively more powerful classifications in their demonic society. As a Demon Baron, Laharl commands impressive power, both politically, and physically.
Known by her compatriots as the Baron of Misery, Laharl is a Demon Baron the others of her species strive to avoid. Not only is she a fierce warrior, but also one known for using especially brutal methods to draw out the pain of her victims. Often, her fellow demons call her 'Little Gressil,' as her brutality is most comparable to the Prison Warden himself.
And that, dear reader, presents Laharl with a big problem. Laharl does not wish to be compared to Gressil, as that would make her seem weak and inferior. Over the years, her desire to break free of Gressil's shadow has become something of an obsession. Laharl's greatest desire is to replace Gressil as the Prison Warden, thus becoming the most feared demon in the Labyrinth when it comes to sheer brutality.
Her signature abilities include steel-rending claws, catlike agility, the power to adhere to walls and the ceiling, and most importantly... her Agonized Souls.
Agonized Souls are what Laharl calls the souls of tortured humans. By inflicting incalculable suffering upon them, she transforms any soul into a cowed and beaten slave, forcing it to do her bidding. Then, Laharl places the soul inside a vessel - typically a bird, and uses it for reconnaissance.
Many demons feel a shiver down their backs when they hear the screams of Laharl's Terror Birds. Their constant pleading for death comes out as incomprehensible cries for help, causing the morale of anyone who hears them to plummet into the abyss.
Laharl might be only a Demon Baron, but her role in the story is sure to increase as time passes.

As I mentioned in this post, I have quit my job and will serve my last day as of Saturday the 9th. I plan to start posting a lot of Patron-only posts, as we have mostly caught up to 95% of the characters currently in Cryopod Refresh as of Part 220. More will certainly come, but from here on out, I plan to put a lot of focus into spoilery patron-posts regarding future Cryopod content.
Note: This will not extend merely into art. You can also expect lots of writeups related to the changes expected between Cryopod Classic and Refresh content. I won't say anything yet, but I do have a lot of plans.
Any financial assistance will be appreciated! Thanks for reading.
