This post is a continuation of the previous one, featuring Smealum.
Smealum and Shepherd are an angel and a demon who met by coincidence in the Ancient Era. During a time of great uncertainty, the scared, weakened angel fled Heaven to escape the eyes of his newly undeadified angel brethren, fearing their gazes. He stumbled into the nearby woods, and there came upon a young Animus demon named Smealum.
The dynamic duo were suspicious and curious of each other at first. Shepherd, the former, and Smealum, the latter. Smealum was a big believer that demons and angels could work past their history of violence and find a peaceful resolution, but Shepherd was the first angel he'd ever met. Meanwhile, Shepherd hated all demons due to the slaying of thousands of his family members.
By the end of their first meeting, Smealum was eager to call Shepherd his brother, but Shepherd was not so sure. Even after bonding over a friendly, improvised game of Sticks and Bones, Shepherd did not necessarily trust the Animus. Having lost his arm and much of his wing during Valac's attack on Heaven, Shepherd had become a broken husk of his former self. It was only via meeting Smealum that the two of them managed to form a tenuous bond.
However, their character arcs seemingly had no resolution during the Ancient Era. What could this mean for future parts? Will we ever, perhaps, see them again?
Only time will tell.
