Rumour has it that Microsoft is prepping for another Bethesda-like acquisition in the coming years. As to who it could be... the crazy one is Take-Two, trying to get the purchase in ahead of Tencent, who are also rumoured to want Take-Two.
- If not Take-Two, who knows what it's going to be? The rumour doesn't have much weight behind it, but it's worth considering an acquisition-heavy MS using every trick in the book to buy someone that big. GTA on Game Pass would certainly turn a few heads.
We Should 'Forget' Bayonetta 3 & More PlatinumGames Talk
In an interview with VGC, Hideki Kamiya said fans should 'forget' about Bayonetta until they're ready to release something. In other news, Astral Chain's Takahisa Taura is their 'best' director internally, and their next focus for this year is Project G.G.
- Bayonetta 3 was almost definitely restarted during development. Sad to consider, but if it's for the best, we can wait. The other sad news from this interview is that Astral Chain is owned by Nintendo, so we're unlikely to see a port run at an acceptable frame-rate anytime soon.
The Japanese Restructure Continues
Following Konami 'collapsing' its gaming division to consolidate the business, Sega Sammy has announced they're splitting up their gaming side - Console and PC will be one side, and Arcade will be the other.
- Konami basically reversed the moves they made when they got rid of Hideo Kojima, and Sega has almost opened themselves up to being sold off with this move. Here's the biggest thing: Microsoft are seeing great results with Yakuza on Game Pass.... maybe that's the goal.
