Microsoft are keeping an eye on Sony's DualSense controller
Microsoft have issued a customer experience survey to Xbox Series X|S owners to ask whether they would like to see any PlayStation-centric features on Xbox consoles - particularly the functionalities in Sony's much lauded gamepad.
- Microsoft are having a few controller issues themselves, actually, as many players have reported connectivity issues between the new Xbox wireless controllers and the Xbox Series X console. Microsoft say they're looking into it, so hopefully we see things fixed quickly.
Cyberpunk 2077's Steam playerbase has dropped 79% since launch
Cyberpunk 2077 had a polarising launch to say the least, but the game being better optimised on PC generated more positive feeling on that platform - but now even the PC player numbers aren't looking so hot.
- GitHyp estimate that Cyberpunk 2077 has lost 79% of its players since its December launch. CD Projekt Red's previous major release, 2015's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, took over three months to experience the same player fall off. CDPR definitely have a road ahead of them with Cyberpunk, it seems.
Double Fine say Psychonauts 2 will release this year
The confirmation comes courtesy of Studio Head Tim Schafer, who shared a New Year's message detailing that work on the much-anticipated sequel is nearly complete - with the game set to launch at some point this year.
- Psychonauts 2 has suffered quite a few delays in its time, not least thanks to pandemic pressures and issues around remote-working. Nonetheless, Schafer states that "all the levels are in the game" and everything is generally "doing well", so full speed ahead to release please and thank you.
The Sinking City is back on Steam, but that legal dispute is still ongoing
The game's welcome return comes in the midst of a messy legal battle between developer Frogwares and publisher Nacon, formerly Bigben Interactive - with Frogwares accusing Nacon of withholding promised financing and being weird about royalties.
- The issue is currently being sorted out by the courts in France but Nacon look to have declared an early victory following the court's initial decision that Frogwares unlawfully terminated their contract - and have returned the game to sales platforms for the first time since August 2020.
