Update

 Hi all the peoples!

Hope you've had a great summer. I have, kind of. Except from fractures on three vertebraes, no travels and lots of rain, it's been.... great.

As I wrote in the previous status update I wanted to take the last few weeks to spend with my son before he went back to school. We had the few weeks of really great weather and I just wanted to take advantage of that while it lasted. I appreciate your understanding. He went back to school yesterday which means that from now on my schedule is back to normal.

Actually not, it's being improved. I want to be more transparent and communicative with you guys here on Patreon.

Some changes are happening ahead:

— The green block is photogrammetry, to be able to deliver those 4-10 promised scanned models every month.
— The red block is for tutorial creation. Each block of tutorial creation is expected to generate 2 or 3 videos (1 per day, sometimes less), meaning that a 5 week month means 3x tutorial blocks  will generate 6-9x videos. But there is only 5 weeks in that month so we would get a surplus of 1-4 videos each month. This surplus is important for us to be able to stick to one video release each week even those weeks that we won't be able to record anything, for instance if we get stuck in a commercial job or any other reason. If we get a excessive surplus of videos, we'll at times be able to release more than one video a week. Maybe this also gives you an indication of how much time of the month that actually goes into making these videos.
— The blue block is for personal projects like the film projects we want to do. This would obviously also generate patreon content, but in a more sporadic, ad hoc way. We'll be inviting you to not only follow along in the progress of these films but also be an active contributor to them if you want. This block also acts as a buffer if we need to prioritize other stuff first, for example if we're behind schedule.
— The lilac block is mainly for commercial work. Since Patreon still doesn't fully cover all the financial needs, we must schedule time for commercial work. When we don't have any commercial work, it'll act as a buffer for the other blocks to produce more content. However I'm hoping that we will be able to replace these commercial work blocks with more Viz.Guru content in the near future.
Obviously we'd sometimes need to move these blocks around. For instance, a commercial job might require two or more weeks straight without interuption. This is where that surplus of content is so important so that we can continue releasing content even when we're fully booked on other things for a little while.

Please bare in mind that it will take a little time to get up to speed with this. For this to work seamlessly and to be able to make scheduled posts, we need that surplus both for models and videos. So for the first month the posts might still be a little sporadic but eventually our posts will be planned for an exact time at an exact day, every single week. Reliability is what we're aiming for here.

This means we will also plan the video topics in advance, so each series of tutorials will be planned ahead and not only be made "on the go" as I've been doing so far. It's impossible to plan it in detail as we can't know how many videos a certain project will require, but we will be able to share the content plan with you so you know what's coming.

I really hope we can get this to work as seamlessly as we expect.

Let's get to work!
