Having some fun...

I've long wanted to get into new things, animations in particular. Sci-Fi shorts, title sequences etc. I still dream of making the Sci-Fi movie I was talking about last year, "The Creator". We actually have manuscripts more or less done for two different Sci-Fi shorts we'd love to do but never found the time to commit to.

Now I'm picking up inspiration from everywhere online and allowing myself to become the pupil again for the first time in many years, slowly working myself into the mindset of animation. Here's a simple test of something to get my inspiration going. It's incomplete, it's nothing particular at all, but small and seemingly insignificant tests like this are very important to prove to yourself that you are indeed able to reach those higher goals, one baby step at a time.

I should start doing dailies.

Comments

Didn't think this video would generate so many comments but I'm happy to break it down. However, as stated in the description I finally allowed myself to become the pupil again and Timo Leucht was perfectly right in that it looks like the styleframes cource from Learn Squared because that's exactly what I've started watching. In other words, no credit to myself in this video, it's just a test of what I'm picking up from his videos. Nonetheless, still happy to break it down :-)

It looks awesome...is the sculpture a scanned asset? Not just the lighting but also the shading work looks so good. Totally agree with ajee, this little piece of art deserves some kind of “making of” because of its top notch quality...Congrats!

Hi Viz Guru ! Did you put a texture on the light emitter ? Would love to see how you manage light and camera ;)

Reminds me of the new learned squared styleframes course i got an advertisement these days. But yeah would also like to see how you approach it.

yes he is right

I agree with @ajee

You should definitely do a quick breakdown of this video! There isnt a lot of high quality animation content for 3Ds Max out there!
