Finally some time to record new videos. Starting off with some automotive rendering for now, and the next video, hopefully comping up tomorrow will cover the concrete scene I've been asked to break down properly.
Edit : Updated with files attached.

thank you for this tutorial, I tried to recreate the same image but with another car :) I wish I can post it here. Anyway, I post it on Instagram and I'll add a tag.

Will do, thank tyou for the request. Won't be much to say as it's extremely straight forward but I'm happy to cover it! I'll be in the office tomorrow Monday, will make a short one then :-)

Hello Johannes
Thank you so much for inspirational videos!
I´d like ask you to tell us more about your external graphic card. I have laptop with one 1060 and thinking about to increase power of it, but i know nothing about. Will be super apraciate if you can explain what you have and how does it works .
Thank you

Thank you! :-) It's just a default shader with emission enabled. Couldn't get simpler; https://prnt.sc/qihgkx

Thank you, I wish you the same! :) Yea that would probably be a good idea. I guess a displace/bump on the matte plane would be sufficient, I'll leave that to you guys to try ;D

Thanks for clearing that up, you're actually right I was having max on the not-main monitor. A shitty bug, will report to Autodesk! :)

Hey! Thank you, I've read and will take that into concideration :)
2020-01-02 13:53:23 +0000 UTC
I would believe it is, as the base/foot looks pretty much the same :)

hi johannes, great as always ;-) i wish you a happy new year. one thing maybe you could apply some bump or displacement on the base plane... just for the shadow following the cobblestones... or easier, just mask them a bit in photoshop ;-) what do you think

hey Johnnes. The camera issue that u had was because you are running 2 monitors. You need the max viewport to be on primary to be able to handle camera correctly ;)

Hi, what a good tutorial, I have a question, how did you do rear light?

Thank you!!! The "awkward silence" moment was hilarious, lol :) Speaking of Concrete Scene - it was me, who asked about it. Could you please check your Facebook Messenger, I've marked a few spots of this scene (sent them with a screenshots), which interested me the most, it would be great if you will cover those!

Thank you very much! Do you know if the XF270HU is the new model you're talking about? I was looking to buy the PD2700U (benQ)

Nice tutorial ! Thanks. Would love to see a breakdown of the other car shaders.

It's an XB270HU. I think it is discontinued but it has a replacement. I can really recommend it, the asus monitor is crap but the Acer is really good, it has a great panel with great viewing angles and the color accuracy is actually really good, especially for being a gaming monitor. I could almost get it to look 1:1 with my Eizo manually without any calibration. Only downside is that it has only a DisplayPort connection, no HDMI, which really limits the length of the cables you can have. Maybe the newer models have more connectors!

Happy new year mate :)

Photogrammetry yes! Haven't had the time to spend as much on it yet, I want to pass a certain point where I at least know how to solve most of the issues I encounter in the process, not really there yet but pretty close :-)

Nice video! I'm about to update my monitor. Which Acer model do you have, and can you recommend it? Have a lovely New year.

I've not even an FStorm user, nor am I into automotive stuff user but it was still a great insight nontheless.
Do you plan on making a video about your photogrammetry workflow sometimes soon? I got inspired by Bertrand's results and now also got myself into that realm, directly the crosspolarized ring flash route. Read you gave him some good advice, hence I'm eager to see how you go about this.

"Be able to work properly while TRAVELING" not working. Jeez!
