BlahBlahBlah...
Added 2019-03-17 19:23:50 +0000 UTCAlso forgot to mention something else.
I upgraded my Vimeo account so from now on, I'll be recording and uploading everything in 2560x1440px instead of FullHD. Better quality, better sound, and who knows, maybe better content :-)

Hi ! Just for feedback - all is very interesting, particularly connecter (how to organize all assets) and recording of commercial projects. I found many mistakes in my approach so now I feel much better prepared ! :)
2019-04-07 13:33:03 +0000 UTCHi friend, thanks for the quick feedback and I'm very happy even with the 3 answers! I imagined that something was wrong with the Patreon system, yes I understand now that it is difficult to communicate, I also noticed that the thumbnails of your videos disappeared that this is a bad thing about Patreon, but let's be patient and let's go ... About the Face group, thinking about your workflow + material for Patreon subscribers + Your life and family, this will not be good. We follow here with you, we better maintain the quality of the content and you have a normal life! Thank you and have a great family weekend friend!
2019-04-06 17:19:34 +0000 UTCThank you for your kind words, it warms :) The keyboard is actually the Apple Magic Keyboard, space grey. I kinda like the feel of typing on it but since some keys are switched, like ALT and WIN-key, I used an app called ”SharpKeys” to reprogram the key inputs in windows :-)
2019-04-06 11:10:58 +0000 UTCThank you :-) I did use Eizo monitros, 2750 or whatever their name is, but being only 60hz and having 17ms latency, they induce a lot of input lag which to me is really really aweful to work with. So I bought some 144hz 1ms gaming monitors from Asus instead, only to learn that the colors were very inaccurate. So now I have the gaming monitor for work and the Eizo for color work :-)
2019-04-06 11:09:26 +0000 UTCThank you, I’m so happy for your words :)
2019-04-06 11:07:22 +0000 UTCThank you so much :)
2019-04-06 11:07:08 +0000 UTCHi, It is absolutely my pleasure :-) 1. Good choice IMO, I have been using FStorm exclusively for everything I’ve done the past 2 years and never felt there was anything I couldn’t solve. 2. I do try to show material creations within my other projects but I haven’t really done any exclusive shading videos yet. I have been wanting to do it but I always found it to be pretty pointless since I really believe in ”keep it simple”, meaning that my materials usually don’t contain more than a diffuse, bump, maybe a reflection map and a color correction. Very very rare that I do node trees more complicated than that. Regarding SSS materials, I haven’t really understood it myself. I have successfully made a few shaders like candle wax and such, but that’s not because I know what I’m doing, but rather because I just play around with it until I’m starting to get close. So, succeeding to make an SSS material does not in any way mean that you know how to do it :-) But with that being said, I’d be happy to give it a go, but you must be aware that I actually don’t know what I’m doing. :-) 3. Indeed, I’ll just make my connecter video with some design connected giveaways, and after that I might reprioritize the to-do list if wished for :-) PS: Yes that is the easiest way to reach me, and that goes for everyone. If you want to send me files for help or review, always feel free to drop me an email to hej@johannesl.se :-) Hug!
2019-04-06 11:06:54 +0000 UTCThank you for this reminder! I’m not sure I’m the best guy to make such a video since I have actually not worked a lot with international clients, but I can give it a go and you’ll have to decide for yourself if it’s any good information or not :-)
2019-04-06 10:59:46 +0000 UTCThis is actually hard for me to answer since I don’t use more than Fstorm. However, talking to Connecter Dev team they said it should be possible to have only one model visible in connecter, but having it containing several versions of the model for different renderers. Nothing I’m sure of how to do, but I’ll try to figure it out. I am making a connecter video, the reason for its delay is that I’ve been working with Connecter Dev’s on some giveaways for my Patrons :-)
2019-04-06 10:58:42 +0000 UTCThis is an issue I have wanted to solve for a long time and I have also written Patreon a ticket about it along with asking if there’s a way to get the videos working in the mobile app as well. Have not gotten any response to this yet but I’ll let you guys know how it goes.
2019-04-06 10:56:48 +0000 UTCI have been thinking of that, but more in terms of feedbacking peoples images. I found it to be really hard though since I never know how the scene was made. If someone wants to send me their scene and have me publicly feedback it, I am more than happy to do so. However, one must always understand that everything I say there is my personal views and the creator may not always agree with it. They might even think I’m stupid at times :-)
2019-04-06 10:51:56 +0000 UTCHi, Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. Truth be told I don’t really like Patreon, it’s an unfinished platform. I may get notifications when people write to me, but when I click the notifications I’m not getting directed to that post, and it’s not telling me what post that was commented on, so I always have to manually scroll and search through my posts to try to find the new comments. Because of this, answering comments on Patreon may sometimes be really cumbersome which is why I’ve tried to once every now and then go through my posts and answer all unreplied comments. Your feedback makes me realize that I haven’t done a very good job at that and I’ll certainly try to do better. I have also had thoughts of actually having a facebook group intended only for patrons where I much easier could answer questions and stuff, but not sure that’s a good idea either.
2019-04-06 10:37:29 +0000 UTCJL, do not get me wrong, but I see quick answers to the questions from people in the FS / facebook group and here very slow or unresponsive posts. I do not know if I understood the right signature / philosophy of Patreon. Once again I'm sorry if it's me who did not understand this Patreon system or if I have to have more patience and wait for my questions and also for other members. Hug!
2019-04-06 00:03:02 +0000 UTCAlso I was wondering if you could break down other peoples scenes. So if some else supplied the scene you could open it up and point out whats wrong it, provide feedback etc..
2019-04-04 01:09:08 +0000 UTCI'm wondering if there is a way to watch the videos without going full screen or the tiny little one in Patreon blog style. I like to watch them when I'm in 3dsmax so I can kind of follow along. I can't do that in fullscreen mode and I can't see anything when its that small in Patreon blog view. Cheers keep up the awesome content
2019-04-04 01:07:16 +0000 UTChow are you dealing with multiple renderer libraries? Do you have complete separate libraries for FStorm and Vray?

2019-03-21 19:13:24 +0000 UTCThank You, Johannes, You are sharing really great stuff in your videos. Will be waiting for more interesting workflows, more thoughts, ideas - everithing!
2019-03-19 15:13:51 +0000 UTCHello friend JL, congratulations, thank you for everything you have done and have this honesty / attention with us here, I want to be your Patreon forever, thank you! I take it and leave my requests for you to put in your work plan / videos. 1. I am determined to use ONLY FS, given that my rendering focus is to present new product (furniture) and packaging design (which is my area of expertise, product design and graphics / packaging). 2. I would like to see more creation of set / studios (yes great ones you have already done thank you) and materials / sets for me is fundamental, good examples of materials: wood with and without varnish / fabrics for chairs / metals / translucent plastics / translucid materials such as chocolate, yogurt, cheeses / liquids such as white and red wines / workflows with labels for wines where there are several materials involved in a good bottle of wine such as liquid, glass, capsule and labels has paper, metal details, letter relief (yes it has a world of materials in only one bottle). 3. So I look forward to such scenes as "Happy Holidays / Dec 23, 2018 at 1:26 pm" and his commentary "4. Making a close shot like the one above in this post, playing with fabrics and TEXTURE SCANNING." Thank you and for your time, I do not want to overload you, be calm to do your time, just put in your work plan / videos. PS: If I need help with any specific material, can I write to you and send it as far as I can? By email? Gratefully and congratulations once again for being this great JL professional and always being around! Hug!
2019-03-19 12:02:09 +0000 UTCThanks, to you too for sharing your work and experience. I watch every fakin second :D. Just a huge fan here. :D

2019-03-18 10:04:45 +0000 UTCI also love the commercial projects and the very valuable insights that you give with your vids. Looking forward to everything you mention coming up on that list. Especially the connector vid. Side note speaking of equipment, what monitor(s) do you use? Would you recommend it?
2019-03-18 08:07:42 +0000 UTCi would like to see more furniture modeling not just kitchens. :)
