Wow I have never seen that measure tool, 20 years of using 3dsmax. I've always used the Dummy tape measure or just use a box :)

I don't think the Stainless steel anisotrophy bends are bug, google Stainless steel splashbacks and you see lots of bending highlights.

Very nice! Would be nice to see an exterior tutorial with a full facade. I know you've said that it's not your speciality, but I think many would be interested in seeing your take on it.
