The End of the Sketch Request Lottery
Added 2018-09-24 03:26:52 +0000 UTCI got an email from Patreon today telling me that I must remove the sketch request lottery from my rewards.
I have no idea how I am going to rework my rewards tiers, but they can not include "raffles."
Suggestions are welcome, and I am in contact with Patreon as to what this means exactly and if there are other ways I can change things to make it work.
For now, I have no idea how to completely revamp the tiers of support where people still feel involved and engaged and rewarded. Obviously, the raffle system was so people would have a chance at a sketch request. I definitely do not have the time to sketch every idea that gets submitted, so something has to give.

I understand. The problem with that is Patreon would probably still consider it a "raffle," on the other hand with a poll we would be voting on what sketches we would like done based on what sketches, YOU, put in the poll to be voted on. So, you, would still have choice of sketches, you, want to draw. After all it's our tiers, but it's your site, you draw the pics you want, we just suggest what we'd like to see and then whine about it later. :-) Seriously though I think you do plenty of Randi on your own or when the B.B.P. suggests on so that should be good enough. Limiting the Randi posts should not be a problem, like I said it's your site we just get to participate, which is better than some artists offer. So I say just go with the polls, pick what you want in them and let Patreon worry about someone else, since polls aren't "raffles" they're elections. Good luck.

While I'd like to see my idea to be picked, I love seeing what your other fans come up for ideas and your final products never disappoint. I don't know how else you can be fair to everyone without a similar setup. Otherwise, you'll have to satisfy everyone by doing a request from them but it may take months to cycle through all of the Patreons. Stupid management. :(

2018-09-24 14:26:56 +0000 UTCYeah, I've emailed Patreon asking for some clarification, now I have to wait and see what they say. The issue may be that it is getting selected at random. I don't know. But I really don't want the sketches to be done by poll, because I feel like the result would be the popular characters keep getting sketches done. So, Randi gets every sketch and none of my other OCs get any love. It may be okay for me to simply still allow sketch suggestions based on tier and then I just pick one to sketch, instead of selecting it randomly.

2018-09-24 05:25:47 +0000 UTCIf Patreon considers it a raffle, maybe you could have patrons submit suggestions via email and you could pick the best submissions and put them up as a poll for patrons to vote on, and maybe allow the upper tiers voting chances based on their tier, or maybe keep the submissions based on tiers and just let everyone vote on what you pick since the sketch is usually what you ultimately pick anyway, but because it's a poll i wouldn't think it'd be considered a raffle. Plus the sketches for the month could be the ones that get voted 1,2,3... That way everyone would still have a voice and a choice. Plus it might cause a slight delay but it might simplify things and allow you time to sketch ahead. These are my thoughts on this. So good luck, I hope it all works out.
