June Bonus Stories 5 & 6 -- Video !

Comments

I've been a picky eater since I was a kid (I'm 20 now) and even though I've expanded my taste a lot and I'm willing to try new foods I NEED to know what I'm eating

Coni Galindez

the first story is the reason why i will NEVER marry someone i haven’t lived with for at least a year !!!

Paige Vidler

I so relate to Justin in the first story. I was raised not exposed to a lot of food and pestering depends on the person, relationship and my mood lol. It’s kind of a control/anxiety thing for me. I’ve only been exposed to a lot of food by accident or other people pestering though…its a delicate balance

Cam!

I run a Noodles & co. Chipotle is better lol

Allie Arrigo

Like I am picky with food but sometimes really appreciate people showing me new stuff but I would be truly upset if someone lied to me about the ingredients

Sometimes Justin and I have opposite takes—but never have I felt more seen by him with the first story 😂 THANK YOU JUSTIN

the separate lives comment is very valid, I'm from the middle east so not 100% the same as what OP is going through, but I can definitely say that is how my parents have been, separate lives save for us kids.

for the second story, being from a culture that is like that, marriage is based so much in religion than necessarily building a strong foundation of love and communication, that just isn't commonly taught to us while growing up, our families will just assume we'll learn it without actually understanding it. I grew up with parents that have never been in love, they have no idea that the only way love keeps going with solid communication and effort. I've learned that here in the US, more than I ever did at home.

The first story is definitely an incapability. Because y'all talking about how Justin loved what you suggested just shows trust and willingness/compromise. I'm responsible for cooking in my relationship and I don't cook something I know he doesn't like or eat unless he agrees, it's all about communication. Also I hate how the wife used the "I'm your wife excuse", cheap shot. Like that title can be removed so easily, how about you take some accountability.

Angie Melgar

I would be so upset if my husband didn't want me to cook for him. He works so hard for us and I enjoy meal prepping for his out of town work. I constantly ask him if he likes his meals, anything I can tweak to make it better. If he said "I don't like this" it would never be on the menu again. Putting things into food without consent is wrong, and it's also straight up disrespect.

Brittany Lofton

the fact that he states in the comments his wife is concerned hes closer to his niece than his own daughter is frankly the only thing I would be worried about. as a daughter i think i would feel pretty badly if this is the case

chris

I find it interesting he only added the details of his food restrictions afterwards in the edit. if you read the comments a LOT of people arent agreeing with him until he says he is a vegetarian. which he then says he only eats that way sometimes. i think there is a huge miscommunication going on between them and if they cant figure it out maybe its best to continue to cook seperately
