October Bonus Story #4 - Video

If you want to try astral projecting a good way to do it is put an X with a pen on your hands before you go to sleep so if you can't see them in your dreams it'll sometimes trigger your brain to know it's a dream and then you can have an easier time controlling the dream narrative

I know this is soooo old so it might get read, but I get sleep paralysis so bad. Often there will be a buzzing sound during it, a vibration in my body, and the pressure like I’m being held down. My husband is constantly having to wake me up because I’ll be trying to scream. Sometimes I see things during this, shadows next to me or faces above me, but sometimes it’s just the feeling and all I see is my bedroom around me. Horrifying and I wish I could get it to stop.

OOOOH I've been practicing for years now. I can *almost* astral project but not fully there yet. I also have some insane sleep paralysis demon nightmare stories that I *know* are real and had to have really happened

It's not sleep paralysis if you can move. I would sage that room and get a camera. Much love and happy thoughts your way

Every night when I lay down to go to sleep and close my eyes, I see 5 humanoid figures standing over me each one taking a turn looking closely at my face. This started probably about 6 months ago. It did freak me out at first, but I've gotten used to it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have gotten sleep paralysis before! I’ve definitely experienced the feeling of something sitting on my chest and being unable to move or breathe. Most of the time- this is how it is for me. However, my worst experience was when I actually saw a zombie-like being laying at the foot of my bed. It popped up, abruptly turned it’s head to look at me, then started lunging to attack me. I woke up before it reached me, and that was the only time I’ve ever seen something during sleep paralysis. For me, I typically only get sleep paralysis during times of stress in my life.

I’ve never really experienced sleep paralysis but I have experienced odd things when falling asleep, things that could be considered a delusion or hallucination. It’s usually nothing too scary—a moving shadow, the ghost of a lost pet—but one night, when on the cusp of sleep, I heard a loud and screeching scream. I immediately woke aaallllllllllll the way back up and got scared. I still lived with my parents and brother at the time, none of whom heard the same noise. A note: I’m a type 1 diabetic, so it’s pretty important that my blood sugar stays at a safe level. This happened before I had my continuous glucose monitor, so I was still pricking my finger with a small needle every day to test my sugar before/after eating. I have had more nights than I can count where my sugar suddenly decides to dip dangerously low; I wonder if maybe that was my body/the universe trying to wake me up to check it. Too much time has passed since, however, for me to remember what my sugar was that night, and at the time, I just thought I was “hearing things” because I was not yet comfortable with my spiritual side (I was raised Catholic).

Hi Morgan and Alejandra (: I don't experience sleep paralysis but I did work at a sleep medicine clinic for 8 years. One of the docs recommended a really interesting book about various sleep disorders that I think you would both be super interested in: SLEEP by Carlos H. Schenck, MD

I get it, but nothing happens aside from me getting super scared, I fight with everything I have to move. I rapidly try to wiggle my toes or try to call for my boyfriend who’s right next to me, and eventually I come out of it. I fight it soooo hard. When I was younger I used to hear the silver wear drawer in the kitchen going but I don’t usually hear anything anymore. I’ve noticed that it happens when I’m on my back or really tired. But ya I think I’m moving and making noise but I’m not. It’s terrifying even if you don’t experience visions like other people do.

I have sleep paralysis sometimes. 2 most notable times are: #1, when I was a teenager there was a figure that sat on my chest, held my arms down by my wrists, and screamed in my face as loud as they could. I've slept with the lights on since. #2, I've seen giant spiders on the ceiling that started falling all over me/my face.

I have had sleep paralysis for like 20 years. (I'm now twenty years older than I was when I was 20. I celebrated the 11th anniversary of my 29th birthday in June. (Ok fine, I'm 40. There I said it. 😝) Anyway when these episodes occur in that moment it is the scariest effing feeling in the world. I am 100% paralyzed physically but my brain is active. In my head, I'm screaming for help and thrashing around trying to get someone to help. When in reality, I'm not moving or speaking. My daughter recorded an episode once and because of other health issues, that kid's been through some shit in her 15F short years. She has had to do CPR more times than I'd like to admit. But when one of my heart issues comes about, she's completely calm and collected. She knows what to do, when to do it, how to deal with whatever that particular situation is. (They're not always the same.) But when she was finally able to wake me up she was hysterical. Like terrified hysterical. She said my eyes were open the entire time but I couldn't see anything, my pulse was 197 and even after my pacemaker kicked on, it took like 5min to get it back down to 75. (at the time my thresholds were set at 50 and 90.) She thought I was dead. She followed all normal "heart shit" protocols and nothing worked. When she realized (within seconds that it was not heart related she turned on the security camera in our room so she could show me what happened. There is no cure, no way to prevent it and it actually affects about 40% of the population at least once. It's caused by your sleep pattern working backwards. So when you are in REM, you're in deep sleep and your body does actually become paralyzed but you don't feel it (no pun intended) because you're sleeping. Sleep paralysis is brought on when your REM cycle is disturbed. And basically it occurs when you're passing between wakefulness and sleep. It absolutely sucks. And I don't really sleep much for the first couple of days following an incident because it is so scary. I don't know that anyone has died from it but I do know that it could happen. Depending on the person and their health in general. People with cardiac issues (yup....that's me...of course) can suffer with symptoms that correlate with a heart attack. Chest pain, heaviness, feeling unable to breathe, etc. I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy! I've never had the experience Riley posted where it was like someone was moving my blankets or anything. But there are documented statements that people with this condition have been known to see what they call "sleep demons." Ya know since the whole being paralyzed shit isn't scary enough, let's add some demonic shit on top. 🤦‍♀️ Thank you Morgan and Ale for another awesome spooky story!! Someday I will write in with one of mine. Happy Halloween 🎃!!!

I’ve only had sleep paralysis once in my life and I hope to never experience it again! In high school I shared a room with my twin sister, who is a deep sleeper like I am. She was already asleep one night and I was finally nodding off when I felt my heavy blanket start to pull itself down my body. I was lying on my back and had it pulled up to my chin. It started off slowly, I didn’t even notice at first because the pulling would pause for a few long seconds before continuing. By the time I realized, it was at my waist. I still remember being paralyzed by fear. I told myself I was imagining it and slowly moved so my hands were gripping the edge of the blanket. I didn’t move it back up, just told myself I was imagining things and obviously the blanket moved naturally by my breathing or something. I will never forget the terror I felt when i was once again falling asleep and felt a HARD tug on my blanket. It literally ripped out of my hands. After that I bolted out of bed and used my phone as a flashlight to investigate the room. I thought we had an intruder because my bed had a little door underneath that could be used for extra storage, and could fit a person easily if they weren’t too big. I woke up my sister and had her search the entire house with me. We checked the locks and windows, etc. but nothing was out of place. I’ve since convinced myself it was sleep paralysis or something similar because the alternatives are scarier. But I will never forget the feeling of that blanket pulling out of my hands. Because it didn’t feel like someone pulling it from beside me or at the foot of the bed. It was tugging as if something was underneath my and pulling downward. If this is a “normal” sleep paralysis occurrence (I wonder if Ale has had this happen?) or someone else has experienced something like it, PLEASE let me know I’m not crazy lol
