Kaerwyn Issue 10 Page 51

So this is what the comic would look like if I painted it instead of doing the black outline cell shading.

It was because of this that I decided to try continuing with the painting method, not only because it looks better, but because I *really need practice* with painting, and I never have time for it with the comics and the commissions.  I'm slightly ahead of my Kaerwyn schedule so that gives me more time to work on it.

My style might go back and forth between painting and cell shading, because painting does take me about twice as long to do it. And if I don't have time one day, or one week, I'll have to flip back to the other style.

I know that's a no-no in the comic making world, you don't want to drastically change your style, but I think this is what I need so I can practice and get better at painting without it cutting into my time too much.

In order for it to work out in my favor, I'd need the auction to hit at least $400. I'm not sure if people would be willing to pay that. Plus I find doing actual paintings for commissions to be much more stressful than the sketch commissions.

Serious suggestion time: if you want to free up some painting practice time without compromising commission earnings, hold an occasional FA auction for a special painted slot. You have a fair idea how long such a slot would take by the sound of it; you can devote a day to it and EASILY recoup a day's worth of revenue, I reckon.

Oooh. You don't need to be a raccoon to be entranced by THAT.
