Regardless of the type of exercise, the calorie burn is a DROP IN THE BUCKET relative to what you can eat in 13 seconds. And yes, lifting weights does increase muscle which does raise your metabolism, but it is a DROP IN THE BUCKET relative to how many calories you can inhale. But exercise is critical for your nervous system, for your brain health, for your emotional and mental well-being. I’m currently going through an extremely difficult time, and if not for my exercise practice (and other nervous system regulation tools) I would 100% not be alive right now Also…I’m not a cardio girlie but the only reason to do cardio is your heart health Lift heavy weights— your brain & gut need it. Do cardio for your heart. And if you want to lose weight, eat fewer calories. It’s that simple.
