I live in the Eden Monaro seat and we expected Barilaro to win, but not by as much as he did. It's worrying from an environmental perspective especially considering the brumby bill will remain in place. Didn't see Bryce Wilson down here once for country Labor. Pathetic. They seemed to be focussed on the Bega valley electorate. I think the nationals hold this seat by an 8.5% margin now, and it was traditionally a bell weather seat but I think not so much now with the reshuffle to include as far north as Queanbeyan. It's really disappointing but the voting base of my town (Jindabyne) seems to be made up of extremely old farmers, and northern beaches mums, with some apathetic greenies scattered about. And in terms of federal Labor leadership I'd like to see Penny Wong get up. But as you said; if the leader was a jellyfish, I'd still vote Labor.
