Album Release: Komi Can't Communicate - Piano Reflections

My second album for 2024 is "Komi Can't Communicate - Piano Reflections"! As you can probably tell, this is in the same series as my previous Silent Voice and Kaguya-sama EPs, a short and concise album that features six piano solos from the source material. As opposed to the Kaguya-sama album, this leans more heavily on the soundtrack as opposed to the ending songs. But that being said, it does feature the soundtrack of the first opening (Cinderella), titled "Our Days Continue", and my favourite, the first ending song "Hikare Inochi". With the latter, I might have gone a bit too crazy with the arrangement since it is both quite challenging to play and it is full length. I might go back at a later stage and create a shorter/TV size version. But on the flipside, the other arrangements are the standard 2-3 minutes and extremely playable. In short, I'd put track 02-05 on intermediate, and track 01 and 06 on intermediate/difficult. The easiest one of the bunch would be track 05 I think.

As for the series itself, I watched both seasons on Netflix as it came out. While I do think the art is a bit plain and it can get boring at times, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a heartwarming and comforting series, and that is of course appreciated these days. The soundtrack is also masterfully done by Yukari Hashimoto (who also did March Comes in Like a Lion). The main theme especially is a favourite of mine, as you can see on the album since it features twice (track 01 and 04). I hope we get a season 3!
