ATTACK ON TITAN OAD'S PART 1
Added 2025-03-17 21:44:58 +0000 UTCi was told the OAD's are kinda spin offs in a way and in no way really add much to the main story. I guess in some ways it does add to the characters as to why they did what they did.
In my opinion i'm not sure I need to even watch these...I would much rather jump right into season 4, BUT so many people have mentioned them so I feel like if I didn't some would be disappointed.

To explain the notebook: in our Ymir’s backstory flashback from season two, she was adopted as a child off the street and given the name “Ymir” by the cult with the blue robes. When they get found out and the one guy has Ymir at gunpoint, it pans over to the cult members and one of them shakes her head. That member was turned into a titan and sent to paradise along with Ymir. So now as a titan, the cult member happened to stumble upon Ilse, a girl who looks strikingly similar to Ymir (short brown hair and freckles). You can assume that for some reason the Titan remembers a bit of her life and acts as if Ilse is Ymir, bowing and showing respect like she did when she was in the cult. But her Titan instincts took over and made her kill Ilse, yet she still held onto some of her humanity and placed her body in the tree out of respect. It’s basically just a little showing of how abnormal titans work and that they aren’t all mindless killing machines. I can understand that you didn’t put all that together since season two was a while ago and there’s been so much more information since.

So if anything, you could always just watch these on your own instead of recording a reaction. Completely up to you though! 😊
