Tl;dr: Most people are normal
When you say that you have seen some “hardcore, practically extreme feminists,” are these people online or in real life? I think most people in real life are pretty moderate and that videos and things that go viral on the internet that people comment on tend to display extreme behaviors. The only place I’ve lived where people were pretty extreme in real life is Portland, OR. I lived there for a few years and it was like the worst parts of the internet in real life. There are way too many privileged white people who get easily offended on other people’s behalf and too many ignorant, racist white people who complain about “the crazy libs” ruining the city.
I consider myself a liberal because I’m for things like pro-abortion, for gay marriage, but largely because I am for policies that support social welfare. I grew up low-income in San Francisco where there are a lot of resources for low-income individuals, from the city itself and the wealthy corporations who do “community work,” and taking advantage of those resources when I was young has led me to build a comfortable (and probably very out of touch) life. I received a lot of support and financial aid/scholarships to go to UC Berkeley where most people who go there are upper middle class. Last I checked, the San Francisco Bay Area has the most billionaires per capita than any other city (things may have changed after covid). Ones socio economic background often shapes how one views the world. I think being around people on both extremes has helped me understand those views a little better even though I don't necessarily agree with them.
I met my conservative, christian friend back in high school and he’s the funniest, most easy going guy I know so I’ve always enjoyed spending time with him and it’s why we’ve remained friends for so long. He grew up with two loving parents who own a home in San Francisco so he gets to live rent free at a place where there has always been someone who does all the cleaning and cooking for him. He’s never known what it is to be out on your own, have bills and responsibilities, not have a stable home, etc. I had young, broke, immigrant parents who were not together and had a life with lot of physical and sexual abuse so things were pretty rough when I was young. My friend and I have talked about how we grew up has largely shaped what we believe in politically. We often find a lot of middle ground, we just approach things from very different perspectives. We rarely discuss things very seriously and often just tease each other about the extremes of our respective political parties. I think most people in real life tend to be pretty rational, normal people who are willing to hear out someone else’s opinion.

Also I don’t know if their is a reason there’s no more post video music.
But I miss being put on to music by you guys that I had never heard before.
So if it’s in the cards that would be an amazing thing to bring back.

I remember liking the H3H3 podcast for about week and then realizing how cringe Ethan was, and how unbelievably annoying it is to hear his wife try to form sentences.
This hypocrisy is impressive.
I know it would never happen,
But getting you guys and destiny, on his show just going over all the bullshit they spout would be so fkg therapeutic for the world.

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you deal with something like that? Like do you ever have a difficult time getting them to understand how their mindset is or do you leave them alone? I’ve seen some hardcore, practically extreme feminists who despise women who willfully choose to be housewives and stay at home moms and it’s wild to me because they’re mad at someone else’s choice.

I am a liberal who knows a lot of other liberals and can confirm that liberals are definitely the most closed minded group people. Ironically, one of my closest friends is a christian, conservative police officer and he is the least judgmental person I know.
